Welcome + information on visas

[edit]

Hello, Octaviorojas! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

Thank you for your interest in editing Wikivoyage. The reason why user:Ground Zero and I have reverted all three of your edits so far is because we don't put information on visas in city articles. This information should instead go in the 'Get in' section of relevant country articles.

Ok, then I will include the VISA information in the "Get in" section of the countries in the European Union. Hope that helps. --Octaviorojas (talk) 16:44, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you have any queries on this, don't hesitate to ask in a reply to this message below, or on one of the help pages linked above. All the best, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:03, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also, i was a wikipedian in the past, but I've just learnt that this is a different site. I will continue contributing here as well. Thanks.--Octaviorojas (talk) 16:46, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@ThunderingTyphoons!, Octaviorojas: the problem that I have with this link is that it looks to me like it is to a commercial service that will provide the visa, not to an official EU site. It would violate Wikivoyage policy to promote one visa service over the many others. I have not been able to find an official EU site, which isn't surprising as the requirement doesn't come into effect until 2023. Ground Zero (talk) 16:59, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I see. I found that information valuable. That is why I was sharing it to the community. --Octaviorojas (talk) 17:04, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
