Hello Romaine! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Project:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! LtPowers (talk) 23:56, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Romaine. Feel free to run the bot now. I'm about to update the template and will update a couple of dozen country pages just to manually test and check that the information is okay. JamesA >talk 03:55, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Sorry for the delay[edit]

Hey Romaine. I'm not mad at all, that's completely fine. Of course, we're volunteers here and we all get busy. I myself am a little preoccupied at the moment and haven't edited much at all lately. You're real life duties are a much higher priority. I made a few more minor modifications to the template and implemented it using the Whatlinkshere page up to and including J. Kazakhstan onwards has largely not been implemented. I only did it manually as I found there were many unforeseen errors with the captioning that required some manual fixing. I also wanted to add some photos/maps/captions to countries that were missing them. It should be fine to run the bot now if you are able to. All the best! wts: links[edit]

Hi. I've now gone through the remaining wts: links, in a way that I believe preserves all the useful information you wanted kept.

Firstly, I removed those which were either in an article which now has a Commons link, or where the wts: link is exactly the same as the article title (give or take a Category: prefix), in which case they didn't add any extra information that could be used to find Commons material. These two steps removed all but ~170 of the previous ~1400 wts: tags.

I then converted the remaining ~170 wts: tags to instances of the {{wts}} template, stopping them from generating spurious text in the article (as broken wts: links are no longer hidden), and adding them to a hidden category Category:Pages with old wts links. If you'd like to go through those and fix them by converting them to Commons links wherever possible, I can take care of most the rest of the work in finding Commons articles using my bot. -- The Anome (talk) 22:03, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
