expand into a treatment of Franco Belgian comics?[edit]

We could for instance discuss Lucky Luke or Asterix. Those are also known to have traveled quite a bit and there's probably a museum or theme park for them somewhere Hobbitschuster (talk) 20:18, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, it's cool this is attracting attention. First Ypsilon showed an interest, now you :-)
To cut to the chase, I would much prefer this remained a Tintin article. There should be more than enough content from this series alone to make a decent guide article, and with input from others at a (much*) later stage it could be a star in the making. A bold claim, perhaps, since the only two fiction articles to even have guide status (Breaking Bad Tour and The Wire Tour) are both itineraries rather than travel topics. Nonetheless, I think it could work; the only pitfall I can foresee is the copyright on pretty much every image of the series on Commons.
Having said that, Asterix could easily deserve an article of his own; like you say, he travelled lots (albeit in the ancient world), and if having an entire theme park is any indicator to go by, Asterix is probably a more popular and prolific series than Tintin. I don't know Asterix all that well however, and only know Lucky Luke by name.

Good night ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 22:36, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Lucky Luke and Asterix probably merit their own articles. ϒpsilon (talk) 11:51, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly. I think Lucky Luke basically went around the whole Western US for more than a century when you take all the stories... Hobbitschuster (talk) 09:15, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Chaco War[edit]

The war that is alluded to in the one Tintin comic (and hence a hint as to which countries the fictitious countries are based on) was the w:Chaco War (or Gran Chaco War) Hobbitschuster (talk) 09:36, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that's helpful. The oil war was primarily in The Broken Ear. Gracias. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:00, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
De nada. Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:04, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Question. Is Gran Chaco (a disambiguation) the best page to link to? If not, where would be better? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:11, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not. I basically linked that before googling the war or looking where the link goes... Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:23, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
