Wikivoyage offline: Now possible on iOS too![edit]

Swept in from the pub

You want to bring Wikivoyage with you everywhere, but you are stuck with an iPhone?

An iOS version of Kiwix has just been released! Install it, select the Wikivoyage file for download, and you will be able to enjoy Wikivoyage anywhere, even when swimming through the Waitomo glowworm caves or exploring the underground Imperial Palace in Nagano!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kiwix/id997079563

(The Android app is of course still available: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kiwix.kiwixcustomwikivoyage)

Great! (Although I won't take my iPhone swimming)
Is there also an iPad specific version? That would be of even greater use. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 09:34, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've got a Windows Phone, but won't hold my breath for it anytime soon! James Atalk 09:41, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I used to have a Windows Phone. The Kiwix web site claims it isn't hard to compile the source for any OS, so maybe someone could give it a go... --Andrewssi2 (talk) 09:45, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Would this be worth adding to packing list, alongside the (brief) mention of the various OpenStreetMap apps? Admittedly I'm a wee bit partial to Android as their devices usually provide a microSD slot for a memory card to hold this stuff, but... K7L (talk) 14:14, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would be all for mentioning, I seriously think it has greatly improved my travelling experience, as well as reduced my costs and backpack weight. The article says "Printing off pages from Wikivoyage makes for a lightweight reference" and then talks about what can be loaded on electronic devices, so I think a sentence about Wikivoyage Offline (and links for Android/iOS) would be appropriate. Any opposition? Syced (talk) 08:40, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
