Understand

Village Sign
War Memorial

Burnham market is one of the five Norfolk Burnhams in existence today. There were originally seven, but Burnham Market is the merger of three villages:

  • Burnham Sutton - To the East of the Village
  • Burnham Ulph - To the East of the Village
  • Burnham Westgate - To the West of the Village

There are actually 7 "Norfolk Burnhams", Burnham Market being a recent merging of the above 3. Others either still exist or have merged into other villages.

The two churches of the three villages remain and are still in use. St. Mary's is the former Burnham Westgate Church and All Staints is the Church of both Burnham Sutton and Burnham Ulph. Now, both Churches are in the Civil Parish of Burnham Market.
