See and do

Eura is proud of its prehistoric heritage. The Eura dress, a reconstruction of an archaeologic finding, is one of the first such in Finland. A dress based on it was used by President Halonen on an Independence Day Reception.
  • 1 Köyliö Church (Köyliö). Decorated wooden church finished in 1749, with current look from 1890. It's on Kirkkosaari, an island in Lake Köyliö. There seems to have been an older church on the site, and it is speculated that it had heritage from pre-Swedish times: it was known as "Lallin kellari", which may be from Celtic kel-air. The first bishop of Finland (according to legend), Saint Henry, was murdered by Lalli on the lake after a forced visit. The route from Kirkkosaari to Nousiainen, where Saint Henry was buried, became a popular (now revived) pilgrimage. Köyliön kirkko (Q11874238) on Wikidata
