Quechee is a small town centered around Quechee Gorge in Southern Vermont. Although the gorge was the original attraction, a small resort town has now popped up around it.

[edit]Despite being rural, Quechee is shockingly close to some (relatively) major population centers in Vermont.
By car
[edit]Quechee is located along US-4 near White River Junction and between that town and Rutland.
By train
[edit]The nearest Amtrak station is in White River Junction, though there's another one in Rutland, too. You'll be on your own for getting to Quechee itself, however.

[edit]- Quechee Gorge, US Route 4 (Visitor center at 6054 Woodstock Road) (Stop along the bridge just after Quechee State Park in the direction towards White River Junction). Standing on the bridge, peer over into the gorge below. Pullover spots have been designated near the bridge so you can park and then walk on without disturbing traffic. Free.

[edit]- Simon Pearce Glass Works, 1760 Quechee Main St, ☏ +1 802-295-2711. Daily 10AM-9PM. High quality-glass works, based off a workshop in Ireland, but expensive, with even the seconds costing around $150 for a small piece. However, you can go downstairs to watch the glass-blowing, and this is free with no obligation to buy. Clear glass only, no colors.
