Sumter is a city in Santee Cooper Country, South Carolina.


From the world famous Swan lake Iris garden to the historic Sumter Opera House, Sumter boasts of its unique sights and a colorful lifestyle. The perfect blend of the antebellum era with the advancement of the 21st century, the city is frequented by many tourists throughout the year. Sports, outdoor activities, cultural events and may other fascinating opportunities makes Sumter a must visit destination. With only a couple of hours away from mountains and sea, the motto "In the Middle of Everything” is fairly correct!

While in Sumter, visit the Iris garden, featuring Swan Lake. Abundant in wildlife, Iris garden is also home to all the eight species of swans. Catch an exciting show at the historical Opera house, the crown jewel of Sumter. Enjoy the game of tennis at the Palmetto Tennis Center. Beautiful, white sand beaches are just a short drive away. Slip on your hiking boots and hop on to a hiking trail on the lush mountains. Get a taste of local culture and lifestyle and be a part of a number of festivals that the city hosts throughout the year. If you are ever in Sumter, you must visit Swan Lake. It is a huge park, with a trail that you can walk and feed the swans. You can also have a picnic there. There is a playground area for your children too. There are so many restaurants that have delicious food. There are lots of shopping areas where the prices are so cheap!!
