There's something wrong with the drinking; it figures a drink (bolleke) and places to drink. This is confusing!

Train transport from the Netherlands[edit]

I'm quite sure there's a faster inter-country trail going from Amsterdam to France Midi. It stops only in large cities and is faster. I'm not sure this is the train mentioned already or using the regulars. It stops 100% for sure in Roosendaal and Antwerpen (and nothing in between, I took it twice before instead of using slower regular ones).

Links removed from article[edit]

The following links were removed from the article. Information should be compiled into the article itself, not sending people away. -- (WT-en) Ilkirk 12:58, 3 Nov 2005 (EST)

  • resto.be is a website with almost 13000 restaurants in Belgium. Out in Antwerp has a handy search engine for restaurants. (Only in dutch)

Ile Afrik[edit]

Removed 4(!) links to the same place, clearly submitted by the owner/employee of said place (User:(WT-en) Ileafrik?). This is not an advertisement site.
  • Ile Afrik. A cafe where you can find a very cheap and tasty food, ranging from simple snacks to cold plates to warm dishes to home-made spacialities. • Ilé Afrik, [1]. A famous musical café with Afro-Latin (and other popular) rhithms, located in the cultural center of Antwerp, within 10 min walk from the Cathedral. Open daily from 11.30 till late night, besides Sundays and Mondays. Offers a great choice of cocktails (every Wednesday & Thursday ALL cocktails are only 3 euro !! - since the foundation 10 years ago), strong drinks, Belgian beers, special beers (banana, honey), cold and warm drinks.(Aalmoezenierstraat)
  • Ilé Afrik, [2]. Every Tuesday at 21.00 SALSA NIGHT dance party with a DJ. Every Saturday from 23.00 TROPICAL NIGHT party with a DJ: a great mixture of Afro-Latin music as well as, all kinds of dance-hits. Very special atmosphere, lots of exotics. Quite kicking.

Rather than removing all of these, it would be best to figure out which of these listings was most appropriate, and leave it in that section. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 08:19, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

Stay safe: Borgerhout[edit]

I've just read in this article that Borgerhout is mentioned as an unsafe neighborhood. It happens that I'm doing Erasmus in Antwerp and I live by this area. I buy the bread, wash my clothes... in this neighborhood, I leave my bycicle unlocked and I like night walks. When I read here that this could be dangerous I felt surprised, and, inmediatly afterwards, I felt that, maybe, if girls were a bit whiter-skined and didn't wear a head-scarf no one would feel threat in this area.

Introduction[edit]

The overwhelming friendliness of the people of Antwerp -> isn't this a little bit exaggerated? I am not saying the people of Antwerp aren't friendly but I don't think this is a statement you can make in the city of Antwerp.--81.246.15.38 06:39, 3 March 2009 (EST)

Boerentoren/KBC Tower observation deck[edit]

...There is an observation deck on the 25th floor (6E entry including an exhibition downstairs), from which you get fantastic views of the city, including the nearby Cathedral.

I followed this actual advice when I visited Antwerp in 2012, when it was still on Wikitravel. KBC Tower is an office building and with no observation deck accessible to general public and no visible exhibition, so this information is either wrong or outdated. —The preceding comment was added by Cozzamara (talkcontribs)

In that case, it would be great if you plunge forward and edit the article accordingly. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:42, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's deleted now. Nurg (talk) 08:36, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To Guide[edit]

This article seems good for a Usable article. In a quick look, it seems to me, what's still keeping it from Guide status is that quite a few of the hotel listings are just names, which is not very useful and in violation of policy. Is there anything else you see in this article that is in obvious need of improvement? Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:57, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I did quite a bit of work on this article, and I believe it is still far away from a complete guide to Antwerp. I will fill in the hotel entries in due course. It would be good if you could review the transportation sections and perhaps help fill in / expand / update the See / Do listings, and also help me add the ones missing. This is just a skeleton listing of the most important POIs in Antwerp, to a large extent outdated, as my travel plans changed and I did not visit Antwerp last year or this year, so I kinda abandoned the article. PrinceGloria (talk) 11:05, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, I have yet to visit Antwerp, so while I can make some observations and do some copy edits, I don't know what the important sights are. I did add a photo of the Cathedral, but that's already listed as a sight. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:57, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Let us work on that slowly together then and agree to meet in Antwerp at a later date to see how it stacks up and enjoy the city - it sure is worth it :D --PrinceGloria (talk) 22:07, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'd love to. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:00, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pelgrom[edit]

Pelgrom is listed in Do and Drink. What can you "do" there apart from eat and drink? Nurg (talk) 08:16, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
