Suggesting merge to Sailing in Finland[edit]

I think it would be logical and beneficial for readers and editors alike if we merged Archipelago Sea into Sailing in Finland. --Jukeboksi (talk) 09:18, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I surely would not merge, because Archipelago Sea is a part of geo-hierarchy. It's fine to link. Danapit (talk) 20:02, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless, the Archipelago Sea article is indeed not short. Let us put only the general stuff (there is still much missing) and summaries in Sailing in Finland. Åland and Saimaa could be much expanded, also in regard to sailing. Other inland waters, and the coast of Uusimaa and Ostrobothnia can perhaps first be covered in Sailing in Finland, to later be split out if those sections become unwieldy. --LPfi (talk) 22:25, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not a good idea to merge. Archipelago Sea is a destination, while Sailing in Finland is a topic. Also, just as LP said, some of the content in Sailing in Finland maybe is better covered in destination articles. ϒpsilon (talk) 04:04, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How to kindly request to consider merging existing article to new article of larger scope?[edit]

Swept in from the pub

Archipelago Sea should IMO be merged to Sailing in Finland. but {{merge}} doesn't seem the right template to give people time to digest this move. --Jukeboksi (talk) 20:50, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what the problem is with the merge tag. Would place the merge tag on the Archipelago Sea and the {{Merge from}} on the Sailing in Finland page. On the first page's talk page please explain why you think they should be merged and not kept separate, as it does on first inspection not make sense to me? Then leave it a few week if you think people need time to digest. --Traveler100 (talk) 21:45, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
