Cities and Regions[edit]

The list of cities is starting to get a bit long. As there are over 1000 potential listings here, I thought it appropriate to build out the sub-state regions. I subdivided as follows:

I think the cities listed here should be limited to the capitals of each region, with others going onto their region page instead. Meaning the city list should stay under 10. -- (WT-en) Huttite 03:42, 28 Dec 2005 (EST)

The cities list is getting quite long again. I think most should be bumped down to their relevant (presently non-existent) region pages. The five major cities I would recommend keeping here are Munich, Augsburg, Nuremberg, Regensburg and Würzburg. -- (WT-en) Brendio 11:21, 22 Jan 2006 (EST)
Kinda feels like digging up old bones here three years after this discussion. Upper, Middle, and Lower Franconia are in fact separate political regions of Bavaria, but in most travel regards, can be put together in one group. Swabia is another political entity in Bavaria, but normal references to Swabia refer to a region including most of Baden-Württemberg, part of Bavaria, and can even include parts of Switzerland, Leichtenstein, and other countries. Kinda makes it difficult to separate Bavaria - Do we go with separating it by political regions or into the larger regions? (The latter might require some disambiguation page for Swabia...) I think I'm partly for the latter, Franconia in my opinion fits well into a single category. Any thoughts from anyone? Please have a look at the destinations and cities list :( it's over 9 and this needs to be taken action ASAP. I suggest to put the other cities in their respective regions and while the important cities will be left in the list. (WT-en) SnappyHip 21:20, 25 March 2010 (GST)

I fixed the cities and OD list of Bavaria, but now we have a new problem at Upper Bavaria. Please help me out at Talk:Upper Bavaria. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 17:29, 12 August 2010 (EDT)

Bavarian food[edit]

There is a separate article Bavarian food which I think is not very useful yet. Should we integrate it into this article? I could contribute a bit to this, but I am not sure how it should look like in the main article. --(WT-en) Flip666 16:47, 7 April 2006 (EDT)

Serbo-Croation[edit]

User:Traveler100 has changed links to Bosnian phrasebook, Croatian phrasebook, and Serbian phrasebook into a single link to Serbo-Croatian. I understand the languages are very similar, and as a group known as "Serbo-Croatian", but that page is a disambiguation page. The reader who clicks on that link is left still not knowing which page to go to from there. Powers (talk) 21:05, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The subject is also possibly political as during the existence of Yugoslavia those were considered a single language whereas today most governments in the region claim them to be separate languages. I'm no linguist and this is not an area on which WV should focus, but we should find some way of dealing with this Hobbitschuster (talk) 09:59, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
