- Support there's only one POI here. Ground Zero (talk) 15:12, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- I'm doubtful about a merge. City of over 26,000. Also see w:Burlington, Massachusetts#Points of interest. However, since User:ButteBag added the merge tag, I would defer to them. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:54, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek! Sorry to blow you up lol. I'm fine not merging any of these, but what I'd like to see is... when a user lands on a page it should have some content. I don't have the time or inclination to add 1,000 POIs to 100 MA towns. I would like to merge some towns together for lets say the next 5-10 years. It should be VERY clear what POI is in what town and the towns each article covers. If some user gets really pumped about blowing out Burlington in 2028, it should be simple for them to just start adding stuff. Type Burlington into search, redirected to Woburn, see Burlington in the lede and map, confidence to start entering content. We can split out all the great new Burlington content at that point.
- If that's a bad idea, or against policy I totally get it. We can just remove most of these merge tags no worries. ButteBag (talk) 13:00, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- ButteBag, it is easy enough to branch out an article if it starts getting too big or if there is enough information about one of the places listed to warrant a separate article. This article has been around for 14 years. I agree with you that readers have a better experience with a website if they land on a page with content than on an outline page. - Thanks @Ground Zero! That's what makes sense to me, but I just want to be slow and purposeful because I think the whole merging articles thing seems like a real hornets nest. ButteBag (talk) 01:03, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- It really isn't. Articles can be de-merged whenever someone wants to add sufficient information to them. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:41, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Done, thanks all! ButteBag (talk) 21:46, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
