Breadcrumb Daman and Diu separately to Gujarat?[edit]

The suggestion was made at Talk:Pondicherry (union territory)#Merge into Pondicherry. I think it's a good one. Key points:

Daman and Diu are geographically separated enclaves on the coast of Gujarat.

...according to Google Maps, they are about 12 hours' and 640 kilometers' drive apart!

See here.

So what do you think? Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:08, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - it is a bit confusing: Daman and Diu is an administrative group - both Diu and Daman are districts and both are cities... Daman (city) is the capital. We currently have each district and city together as one it seems. I did some work on the articles so at least we have something to work with. -- If this article (Daman and Diu) could be beefed up; maybe, having the other 2 articles would be ok without breaking the hierarchy down further? (mention in the other two that they are districts and cities both....) -- Matroc (talk) 08:44, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The thing is, Daman and Diu are so far from each other that Daman and Diu makes little sense as a travel destination, and an article about an administrative division that's impractical to visit both portions of in close succession doesn't seem of much use to the traveller. Daman and Diu as separate breadcrumbs under the region of Gajarat, ok I will go along with that - we should also make a disambiguation page pointing "Daman and Diu" to the Gajarat region page as people know of and may be more familiar with the political entity. The separate articles themselves should note the fact that they are part of the Indian Union Territory of Daman and Diu -- Matroc (talk) 23:47, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Fully agreed. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:15, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
We agreed on this in 2015. Does anyone disagree? If there's no disagreement, now that it's a year and a half later, shouldn't we do this? Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:26, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree on making Daman and Diu an extra-hierarchical region and breadcrumbing the districts to Gujarat. Gizza (roam) 11:49, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hotel "listings"[edit]

These non-listings (all but one just names) were in the article. Instead, they should be listed in either Daman or Diu, with more specifics:

  • Hotel DELTIN ( 5 star)
  • Hotel Gurukrupa
  • Hotel Sai krupa
  • Hotel Blue lagoon
  • Hotel Emerald

Right now, this uses the same pagebanner as Diu. If anyone has a different pagebanner for either this page or Diu, please replace one of the banners. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:26, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
