Talk:Hobart

When I was in Hobart last year the Antarctic Attraction at Salamanca Place was in Financial difficulties and I have since learnt that it has closed down having gone bankrupt. No news on any replacement as yet.

Drink additions 2/5/2006

Added some more pubs to the Drink section. I'll try to add more to this section if time permits. A couple of the snazziest venues are missing from the Bars section - the Quarry and the Telegraph.

Restaurant section could use considerable improvement. For a city of its size, Hobart (I'm not a local, by the way), has a fairly impressive drinking/dining scene.

Hobart markets

Salamanca Markets operates on Saturdays. Island Markets at Moonah are the largest indoor markets in Tasmania - open Friday to Sunday.

I think that the photo in daylight provides more information, and the night picture isn't so spectacular that that overrides the criterion of being more informative. The night banner has not been cropped 7:1. It also does not have enough resolution to be cropped to 7:1 and meet the minimum banner size, as it would be 1365 * 195. I also prefer the daylight view. However the photo, or maybe another that is a more usual shape, could be added to the article - in See - The stars. Thanks for offering the suggestion. I have previously created an alternative banner for this article (which was initially created for the parallel article at the Hebrew Wikivoyage, but I decided to suggest we'll use it here at the English Wikivoyage article as well). This is an interesting one. I'm honestly not inclined to either banner. I think I prefer the new one, but it looks a bit too rural, considering how off in the distance the city is. Vaticidalprophet (talk) 14:50, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
