Border crossing at Kegen

My information is (confirmed by locals from Karakol), that Kegen border crossing is open during summer (~May - September/October).

Copypasta/irregular listings

The "Why Should You Go There?" irregular format in "See" seems like a dead giveaway that these listings are all plagiarized, though from where I haven't been able to discover. A lot of the "content" in "Do" listings looks like copypasta from tour sites and is very unreadable to boot. Anyone who would like to work on part of what looks like a major editing job on those sections could do a real service for the reader. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:46, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Willthewanderer is on the job! Actally the article is super outdated and needs real work- but editing from mobile is doing my head in. A lot of these are just copy paste from tour companies and are probably a copy write issue (though I suspect the companies themselves added it).

Karakol could be an interesting OtBP someday, we have very few extensive articles from Central Asia. Before that, the article needs to be thoroughly cleaned up and Eat and Drink need to be listingfied and expanded. --ϒpsilon (talk) 18:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Towards Guide status and OtBP

A year (and a month) later, the article looks better. Most prices are in som, but some of the sleeping options are priced in USD. I guess the case is that they prefer payment in hard currency? --Ypsilon (talk) 10:14, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

Dunno whether they really except USD or just post that on their website and convert to som at arrival. The country article does not state the acceptance of USD. Ceever (talk) 10:41, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

As this doesn't seem to be a particularly big city, I believe most of the necessary content is already in the article, so the main thing missing is coordinates and other contact information for some listings. Ypsilon (talk) 18:42, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
