Proposed merger
[edit]Why should this article be merged? Ground Zero (talk) 12:15, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- I would also oppose a merge given that this article is well developed. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:45, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- I don't have an opinion. I'm hoping to see a reason for merging before making up my mind. Ground Zero (talk) 12:52, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- This is nearly usable, so I don't really see much of a reason tbh, unless whoever proposed it gave a convincing reason. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:54, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

- The article should be made a part of Kyoto, because it is part of Kyoto. In thinking about Kurama and what it offers, I think it is better merged into Kyoto/North because it's in northern Kyoto (it's even colored on the Kyoto City map page as part of the north) and it doesn't offer much more than what is already listed. Alternatively, it could be renamed Kyoto/Kurama, but there isn't much more in the area. I disagree that this is "well-developed". It has 2 See listings, one festival, and then double-lists the onsen. It's very little content and there isn't much more out there. It would easily fit into a subsection of Kyoto/North, similar to the Ohara area. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 12:58, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- According to Google maps, it is a tiny place. We could add some noodle shops to the article, but there is nothing else to see, and nowhere else to stay, so merging makes sense. As CW points out, Kyoto/North already sections for various neighbourhoods within the district, so adding one for Kurama makes sense. Ground Zero (talk) 13:33, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- If that's the case, then I'd also agree that merging makes sense. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:35, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- @ChubbyWimbus, @Ground Zero, I feel there would be enough info if we also covered Kibune in this article, perhaps under the name Kyoto/Kurama and Kibune. Tai123.123 (talk) 06:36, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- I think calling it Kurama is okay, even if it includes Kibune in order to avoid the awkward "and". Could you add to this article or at least list some of those things here? The current article does list Kibune Shrine, the main attraction in Kibune. I'm still skeptical that this will be a strong independent article, but if you can show that there is enough, then we can use the Kyoto/~ option. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 07:07, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think "and" is awkward but otherwise don't know enough to have an opinion on this discussion. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:47, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Tai123.123 and Ground Zero This has been stale for three months. Should the merge tag be removed? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 04:43, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- I've changed my mind and feel it could be merged now Tai123.123 (talk) 05:02, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- I've merged all of the content that I feel warrants merging. Feel free to look it over and add anything you find important that you think I left out. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 12:16, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
