Map issue

At the default scale, the map doesn't show any name except "Lalibela" - no street names, no church names. Only when I press + once does it show these things, and the difference is really drastic - from whole-city level to individual street level. Can these problems be remedied? Right now, the map cannot be useful as a printout because it's either a full-city map without anything much in the way of features or it's a map of a single street at a time. I haven't been, but it's a very small Ethiopian town, and I would assume that the streets do not have names. --Peter ^Talk 19:48, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

The article refers to Kedemt Road, Sebat Woyra Road, Adebabay Street and Getergie Rd, so it appears there are at least some street names. Nurg (talk) 00:12, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Direct flights

This edit removed "direct" from "There are direct flights from Addis Ababa, Axum and Gondar." Which of those 3 places do not have direct flights to Lalibela? Nurg (talk) 06:08, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Flights from Addis Ababa go via either Gondar or Bahar Dar to Lalibela. They are direct in the sense that your baggage stays on the same aircraft. Whether you have to get off the plane and then re-board with departing passengers from either airport, depends on whether they need to re-fuel or not and, if so, how strict they are with the rule that, for safety reasons, planes should not be refuelled with passengers on board. http://www.flyethiopian.com/en/booking/timetable.aspx --118.93nzp (talk) 07:00, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Taxis

Not to be seen in Lalibela...

This edit changed "there are few conventional taxis or bajajis" back to earlier wording "there are no conventional taxis or bajajis". What is the source and date for there still being no taxis or bajajis (as distinct from minibuses)? Nurg (talk) 21:32, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Information from reverted edit

I just reverted this edit per external links#what not to link to, but also because I wasn't sure I understood it. Do any of you fully understand this?

6 century churches such as Arbatu Ensesa,Bilbala Giyorgis, Bilbala kerkos,kenkenit Michael and 13th century one Washa Michael with it is beautiful paintings and Getemariam monolithic church.

I think 4 6th-century churches and 1 13th-century church are mentioned, but what about Getemariam? What century is that from? Also, how far away are these churches? Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:29, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Whoever wrote this can write better in English than I can write in Spanish, but that isn't saying much. Ikan Kekek, it's not your fault that you couldn't understand this well; I have a trouble understanding it too. There's nothing wrong with reverting it; if we can't understand it, our readers won't be able to either.

If anyone is sure they know what the sentence means (and I doubt that is possible), then I'd support rewriting the sentence in a way that is easier to understand. John Cafe

Cagliost, if it is now basically a pub then it seems it has changed in the past year. Do you know if it is still called "John Cafe"? If it no longer serves food and fruit juices, then that info should be removed, rather than just adding info about beer. Nurg (talk) 09:44, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

Distance from airport

The article used to say that the town was 27 km from the airport. It appears that was out of date, so it's good to update it. It was recently changed to say 11 km. However, that doesn't seem correct either. It seems to be 19 km to the centre of town (a bit less to the outskirts obviously). Is there a basis for saying it is 11 km, or was that a slip? If you ask Google Maps for a route from the airport to Bete Giyorgis, the route is 11km drive and takes 23 minutes. Cagliost (talk) 12:10, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
