Copying from Wikipedia

[edit]

Most of this article is copied from Wikipedia:Los Baños, Laguna. This is bad, and what it has done in part is to cause an excessive amount of background ("history," etc.) that travelers don't need to know about to clutter up the article. Whatever is most interesting should be summarized, with the rest deleted. I don't think the year when the International Rice Research Institute was founded, for example, is of any importance for a travel guide. The "See" listings, cut and pasted verbatim from Wikipedia, are improperly formatted, and their interest to visitors is not explained. Basically, the article is a mess and badly needs a major overhaul. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:59, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

It still needs an overhaul. Pashley (talk) 01:48, 18 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sleep prices

[edit]

This section currently has:

You will get a place less than USD100 dollars. If you want a little bit higher, ...

What is that about? USD100 is about 5000 pesos. You can get a nice place anywhere I've been in the Philippines for about 1000-1500, some of the backpacker places are well under 1000, & even most of the resorts are under 4000.

I do not know the area & cannot fix this. Volunteers? Pashley (talk) 02:03, 18 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Text is still there & I still think it needs fixing. The most I've ever paid was ₱2800 a night. 110.54.243.45 09:02, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've removed it. For future reference, Wikivoyage is the travel guide that you can edit. If you see something that is wrong or out of date, you can fix it yourself by clicking on the word "Edit" at the top of the article. Ground Zero (talk) 12:51, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Overstated?

[edit]

Our text currently claims the town has "the largest scientific community in Southeast Asia". This strikes me as a highly dubious claim, but I'm asking here before deleting it. Pashley (talk) 06:46, 17 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
