Redlinking Destinations
[edit]Bluntly put: What purpose do they serve? I for instance have never even heard of Winterhausen - and I spent most of my live in a distance probably not much grater than 200 kilometers from it (I don't know where it lies, so it may just as well be 300km). Now this may be because I am ignorant, but maybe we could serve our readers better by making our coverage on places people actually know better instead of creating ever more redlinks on hamlets... - While I agree that Winterhausen does not need an entry as it is small and I am also not aware of any visitor attractions, in general red links serve an important purpose on wiki sites. They highlight topics than deserve an entry, hopefully prompt someone to do something about it. In the case of Wikivoyage they list locations that are notable, either as destinations for visitors or because of there size and economic importance. Also anyone doing a search on the location will at least find the region it is in rather than no entry in the search results. Wiki is a working project not a finished publication. --Traveler100 (talk) 07:16, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
Empty sections
[edit]This here guide (much like Mittelfranken and Oberfranken) suffers from too many empty sections. Right now, it is of virtually no use to anybody, as even most of its cities (and all of its "other destinations") redlink. I fully agree that this is a region a local would identify as such and there are clear boundaries where it starts and ends... But quite frankly, unless we expand this article (and I somehow doubt we can), we might better serve our readers by making the Regierungsbezirke just a few paragraphs in the article on Franconia.
