[edit]

I am actually tempted by the thought of giving this district a more meaningful and appropriate name than just Northern Milan. We have agreed to actually exclude the proper extreme North of Milan from here and have it a part of Outer Milan, so the name may be slightly confusing. What we are dealing with here is the dense area around Porta Garibaldi and Milano Centrale, characterized by high concentration of office buildings mostly missing from the geographic and historic centre of the city.

I am quite attracted to the idea of calling this the Centro Direzionale, as this is the Italian name for CBD, and is actually in use in Milan. The problem is that refers to a much smaller area, and some parts of the district (I mean the eastern part of the area we agreed to include in this district) are not entirely fitting this description.

Can we think of some other, more meaningful and not entirely misleading or confusing name for this? "Milano Centrale and Porta Garibaldi"? Or is Centro Direzionale OK and my concerns are not that grave? PrinceGloria (talk) 22:17, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

E.g. the area around Corso Buenos Aires is indeed different from the skyscraper landscape that you will find west of Centrale. I would prefer use some other name than Centro Direzionale. Centrale and Porta Garibaldi might be good, however I'll still think about another name... ϒpsilon (talk) 13:22, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

No FoP in Italy. Do we want this (it's used via Wikidata, but we can overwrite that locally)? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:43, 11 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Weak keep, as it's one of the first things you'll see when arriving in Milan by train (at Centrale). --Ypsilon (talk) 19:11, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK, but like I said, if you want to keep it, you need to upload it locally. It will definitely be deleted because of architectural copyright and local of commercial freedom of panorama in Italy. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:21, 11 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
