Region or city district?

I had always thought that Mornington was the southern most bit of Melbourne, and wasn't its own region. @Vaticidalprophet, LivelyRatification:, while I may have this mentality as a interstater, to a Melbournian, would Mornington be its own region or a city district of Melbourne? I'm not sure. I've been there a fair few times, and while I certainly wouldn't call it part of Melbourne, I wouldn't call it part of regional Victoria either. Doesn't really fit with either. I think the region classification is the best. --LivelyRatification (talk) 06:32, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Sidenote - while Portsea, Sorrento, Rosebud could maybe be considered very outer Melbourne, Hastings, Tyabb and the like sure as heck couldn't. --LivelyRatification (talk) 06:36, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
