Skyways?[edit]

Is the "german bread store" described under "Eat: budget" just Skyways, or something else? If it is Skyways, then it should be deleted. We already list Skyways sandwiches in "mid-range" (¥20 for a sandwich and coke is not "budget" in China) and mention them again in "splurge" (¥20 cheesecake). They are great, but don't belong in all three categories.

Anyway, they've moved to Shanghai Lu. I updated the directions but do not have an exact address and do not know if the phone number has changed.

If it is not Skyways, it needs more detail. (WT-en) Pashley 08:45, 14 December 2008 (EST)

The New Adress is Skyways 云中食品店 160 Shanghai Lu 上海路160号 Tel: 83317103

Burgers[edit]

There's a very good burger place just North of Blue Sky on the same side of the street. Anyone got enough details to add an entry? (WT-en) Pashley

It is gone. Closed? Or perhaps moved? The location, up a steep stairway and next door to a pink-lights "massage" shop was far from ideal. (WT-en) Pashley 00:56, 7 November 2009 (EST)

Staying Safe in Nanjing[edit]

I edited this section down a lot and linked out to the Stay Safe and Driving in China sections because most of these rules apply to the country as a whole, and not just Nanjing. Of course, what seemed to apply to Nanjing as a city I left in. If anyone has any tips for the Stay Safe section that are particularly relevant to the city itself, I'd be glad to see them put back in. (WT-en) Zainiqbal 15:48, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

Great. That definitely needed doing. (WT-en) Pashley 15:57, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

Food[edit]

I added a section at the beginning of Eat with some of the local specialties, but I think this guide is pretty sad in that almost all the other restaurants listed are non-Chinese. Don't get me wrong, the Western restaurants should be there if they're good and worth going to, but it would be nice to know where to get good Chinese food regardless of style. 112.224.2.56 06:09, 8 February 2011 (EST)

Thanks for adding the local dishes! And yes, I agree that the article lacks listings of the local Chinese restaurants. If you know of the best places to get the local specialties or any other restaurant, please feel free to add them! Although I've been to Nanjing, I can't really help the "Eat" section. I'm not much of a culinary traveler. (WT-en) ChubbyWimbus 16:17, 8 February 2011 (EST)

Alternative banner for this article?[edit]

In the Hebrew Wikivoyage we are currently using this banner instead of the one which is currently used here. Do you think too that this banner would would better than the existing one? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 06:47, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. I like the serenity of the current banner. The new banner feels chaotic to me, and it also feels like it has some kind of blue off color on much of its right side. I haven't been to Nanjing, though; it could well be that the new banner gets the feeling of the city across much better than the current one. But as a composition, I much prefer the current one. I agree with Ikan, much prefer the current one. Pashley (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Malformed coordinates??[edit]

Can anyone figure out why this page is in Category:Pages with malformed coordinate tags? I been over it several times and can't find anything out of order. The page only has two sets of coordinates filled in, one for Zifeng Tower and the other for the {{geo}} tag, both of which appear to be working properly. When you click on the map, however, another location appears across the lake from Zifeng Tower with a "fix me" tag. Where is that coming from? Texugo (talk) 11:40, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find the problem, but I can tell you that the "fix me" is at (or very close to) the main Nanjing railway station. Pashley (talk) 15:28, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WLGQ, no one focus this?! --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 01:51, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Plunge forward, please. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:37, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
