Redlinks

The following are redlinks in the cities section I moved here:

• Hiji A pleasant little city with scenic castle ruins and good views of Beppu Bay. Nearby the Harmonyland Theme Park is a good place to keep the young or young at heart occupied.

• Nakatsu is a town on the Fukuoka-Oita border. It is famous as the birthplace of Fuzukawa Yukichi, a famous educator who is pictured on the 10,000 yen note. Near his birthplace is Nakatsu Castle. The Yabekai gorge close by offers onsens, water sports such as water skiing, excellent ice skating during winter and ancient hand carved and natural caves in which you can drive or walk through.

• Usa The expansive Usa Shrine complex is a great place to relax, unwind and take in the shrines 1000 year history. After some contemplation head to Ajimu for a free taste of the local wine and for a round of put put golf.

• Bungo Takada The stunning Fuki ji is the oldest wooden structure in Kyushu and one of the oldest in Japan and well worth a look. Close by Taizoji with its famously uneven steps. This city has good access to the Kunisaki Peninsula with its famous Buddhist carvings.

• Bungo OnoHalf way between Aso San and Oita City there are numerous waterfalls, beautiful river swimming pools and extensive limestone caves to explore.

• Usuki A beautiful coastal castle town that is famous for its Edo era houses, and the numerous ancient stone Buddhas carved into rockfaces 4 km from the city centre.

• These should be placed back in the article. It is against policy to remove redlinks. They do not hurt anything by remaining there and are inviting for people to create the articles. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 15:50, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

As I suspected in looking up this topic, I see you have specifically been told to stop removing redlinks since at least 2015 on MANY articles, so don't pretend you are unaware that we don't just delete redlinks. It looks dishonest. There are a HUGE number of discussions all revolving around you and the removal of redlinks; Even I was surprised at just how many of these discussions you've been in. I know you are not a troll, but it is trolling behavior. I'm reinstating these in the article but would advise you to stop doing this on all articles and stop bringing up "What to do about redlinks" when you've been told to leave them or create the articles. Let it go and stop ignoring what you've been told so many times. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 14:55, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

Other issues

I looked at this article because of the red links controversy above. On that, I mostly agree with User:ChubbyWimbus; certainly red links like these with a description should be kept, even if it is only a one-liner; they are useful to a traveller. I'm less certain what should be done if there is no description; certainly adding a brief description would be the preferred solution, but that may not always be possible.

Looking around, I notice other problems. The earthquake infobox at the top is from early 2016; is it still relevant? The Understand section starts with "Onsens! Onsens! Onsens! This is certainly what this Prefecture is famous for ..." which is meaningless to me. And so on. Can someone who knows the area fix these? Pashley (talk) 15:51, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
