How and where would you fit in the "carnaval acuatico" that is held every November in San Carlos? http://vianica.com/sp/headline/799 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ak9ml6Ljmc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOTVhhKkx9E —The preceding comment was added by 141.30.210.129 (talkcontribs)

Events should be in the "Do" section. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:47, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

usable?[edit]

what more would it take to give this article the "usable" tag? —The preceding comment was added by 141.30.210.129 (talkcontribs)

Wikivoyage:City guide status: "Has at least a Get In section and one Eat and Sleep listing each with contact information. At least the most prominent attraction is identified with directions."
Basically the information is there but it wouldn't hurt to tidy it up slightly. When you are editing an article (or talk page), have a look at the icons above the editing area. The white ones with the Greek temple, the person on a bike etc. will add a listing skeleton for a sight, activity, restaurant etc. that you like to add. This skeleton includes empty parameters where you can fill in address, phone number, coordinates, home page and so on - it's practical and gives the article a tidy and organized appearance.
Ps. when you write something on talk pages like this one, please add four '~' after your comment. ϒpsilon (talk) 13:16, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

pictures[edit]

I changed the pagebanner (if somebody has a better idea or knows how to crop it so the appropriate size please do so) maybe we should put another pic or two in the article http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:San_Carlos_Nicaragua-2.jpg this for example is the parque central with the catholic church to the left and the fortress (I believe hardly visible) in the background.

would someone please crop the pagebanner?141.30.210.129 15:08, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pagebanner[edit]

That pagebanner is too narrow. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:06, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

#1: A picture of some square or park, I guess
#2: A street scene with colonial-looking balconies
It's because its width at 774 px is way below our required minimum of 1700 px for banners.
So I tried a quick hand at creating a banner for this town, but since the selection at Commons is very meager, neither turned out to be well. Regardless, they are at least correctly sized. What would people think of these?
Ideas on improvements or altogether different banners are welcome! Vidimian (talk) 21:27, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't like either. The second one is better as a photograph, I think, but the first one, though perhaps distorted (why is the church slanted?) is a more appealing image. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:16, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have a pretty good idea of where they were taken.... I think any of them would do, but maybe I should look for one of the pictures that I have taken in San Carlos, whether it'd be better suited, as they seem to give only a narrow view of the plaza-central (if I am not mistaken both were taken close to it)141.30.210.129 01:19, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

the bridge across the Rio San Juan[edit]

According to my sources it is now possible to take a bus across the bridge to Costa Rica. However, I don't know the departure times, the price or anything else about this. Hobbitschuster (talk) 15:35, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
