Hello, 200.252.135.74! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations. Thanks for reverting the vandalism in our Rome article! --Nick talk 14:50, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]Olá! Looks like you've been helping out reverting vandalism and such for quite a while here, already back at WT, both from this and at least one other Brasilia IP address as far as I remember. You probably know that you can create an account if you like, but that's fully up to you and you can equally well continue editing as an IP if you wish. Anyways, thanks for dropping in now and then! :) ϒpsilon (talk) 15:15, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
- You've really been doing a super job! Thanks so much for helping out! Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:01, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Hi!
As you're apparently living in Brazil (and are our most valuable IP contributor! :) ) I want to ask if you maybe have some knowledge about Fortaleza? I've noticed we've never had any Brazilian Destinations of the Month so I nominated Fortaleza for sometime in the end of this year and have translated everything from the other language versions. As of now the article looks decent but if you happen to have some additional knowledge or tips it would be very welcome! ϒpsilon (talk) 20:36, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- Well, I do live in Brazil, in Brasília, the capital city. haven't been to FTZ for at least 3 or 4 years but I'll check it out and add what I can. Thanks for the "MVIPC" award! I'm flattered. :) 200.252.135.74 21:11, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- Nice! ϒpsilon (talk) 21:20, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
Copying text from Wikipedia
[edit]As a general rule, we do not usually allow copy and paste chunk of text from Wikipedia, even if the text is under compatible CC-BY-SA license. We think that articles must be written in the author's own words to increase our SEO. And If I'm not mistaken, you've today copied few paragraphs into Feodosiya and Kerch and that too, without properly giving attributions to Wikipedia. In any case, you should link to the source in your edit summaries. Please feel free to let me know if I'm mistaken. --Saqib (talk) 14:22, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm under the impression that the reshuffling of words and topics is enough to decharacterize the "copy and paste" accusation. Please let me know if it is not. The goal is the creation of outstanding travel guide pages. 200.252.135.74 14:27, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yes it is allowed to do close paraphrasing but as I said, we should link to the source article in edit summaries when we copy text from Wikipedia. BTW. I hope you're aware of Wikivoyage:Tone. --Saqib (talk) 14:33, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm aware of Tone, yes, the pt:wv version of the page was translated and edited by myself. Can you please teach me to properly link & attribute a wp source? Thanks in advance! Ibaman (talk) 15:51, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
