Hello, 80.187.122.173! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.--Ypsilon (talk) 20:53, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey. Actually i find it more pleasant attributing as an anonymous user than having been a registered user. It's alright, I don't need any attribution, edit counter or else. I just want to give restaurant recommendations for every wallet. Sorry for the many required checks of my edits that would not be needed when being autopatrolled. -- 80.187.122.173 21:23, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
But you already have an account with a bad reputation for making Wikivoyage budget-centric, don't you Flightnavigator? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 21:25, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
There are lots of budget-minded travelers, though. Has this IP account been making any objectionable edits so far? Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:49, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
No objectionable edits from this IP, but this user uses the exact same or similar edit summaries as Flightnavigator. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 22:11, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Flightnavigator was never blocked and I don't think they did anything unforgivable. Are you OK with cutting them some slack? Sockpuppetry is not forbidden on this site as long as it is not for block-evasion or any other nefarious purpose. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:17, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'm willing to give a little bit of slack, but I won't forget their refusal to cooperate when their edits were edited or trimmed for style. This includes spamming country articles' go next sections with "xxx has ultra-low-cost budget flights to yyy" with a complete disregard that Wikivoyage is for everyone, not just for budget travellers. Oh and not to forget, this user has also removed perfectly valid mid-range listings (using an IP) for no better reason than "there were too many" while also adding a few budget restaurants on the same article. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 02:38, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes by contributing as an anonymous user I feel treated in a less harsh and critical way. Who wants to join a discussion, when you are accused in a disrespectful way of doing negative things? I already explained that I applied the 7±2 rule to the amount of Mid-range restaurants and despite I disagree to the rollback, I let it the way it is.80.187.122.173 07:57, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I did not use rollback to revert your edits. Please stop with the false accusations. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:02, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Revert. Sorry I don't know the difference between both and thought it's the same. Yes that's the way I'm treated here: Accused of doing false accusations. SHB2000, if you feel better, please remove the autopatrolled status from the user Flightnavigator. I hope after that we can focus on the main thing: Improve Wikivoyage for travellers.80.187.122.173 08:24, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
There is no 7+2 rule for restaurant listings, or if there is, someone added it recently without consensus, because I've been here since some time in the mid-2000s, and I don't know about any rigid application of such a rule for listings in bottom-level articles. I don't really see how using an IP is more beneficial to you than using your preexisting account, but that's up to you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:01, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
That rule is in the article "Avoid long lists". After that I saw that it's better to subdivide valid listings than removing them in order to improve selectability. I don't like to continue with an account that has a 'bad reputation' for one of the admins. By contributing as an anonymous user I feel treated less negatively by one of the admins. So thank you for being able to continue as an anonymous user.80.187.122.173 11:00, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I know the rule. It does not apply inflexibly to listings in bottom-level articles. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:43, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I hope in the future that one admin can acknowledge all the positive contributions i made with that account and as an anonymous user and stops the bad treatment. 80.187.122.173 09:43, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate the good contributions you make and salute you for making so many of them, and also appreciate that you have always been motivated by serving the interests of budget travelers, which we should serve, but haven't I stated as much before? Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:40, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I appreciate that estimation. Btw I also update and add mid-range and splurge restaurants. Actually it's not you. SHB2000 treats me almost like an enemy. And he drags my overall work here through the mire.80.187.122.173 12:27, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
