Hello, BaliTjendanaVillas! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. Don't tout[edit]

Hi. Please read welcome business owners, if applicable, and don't tout. Please note that if you are paid to market hotels, you are not allowed to add any new "Sleep" listings at all. Otherwise, the links I gave are applicable to everyone.

All the best,

Hi,

Can you please specify where and how did we use tout? And if you are going to remove the properties you can atleast let us know which ones and specify why.

Thanks —The preceding comment was added by BaliTjendanaVillas (talkcontribs)

Hi. I gave you an answer on my user talk page, but I'll go into more specifics here. Let's look at the first of your two listings in the Seminyak article. I've crossed out the portions that violate Wikivoyage:Don't tout:
* {{sleep | name=Kunti Villas | alt= | url=http://www.tjendanavillas.com/ | email=kuntirsv@tjendanavillas.com | address=Kunti II, Seminyak, Bali 80361 | lat= | long= | directions=Just a 20-minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, a 10-minutes walk to Legian Beach | phone=+62 361 737282 | tollfree= | fax= | checkin= | checkout= | price=$142 - $273

| content=Kunti Villas has 7 private villas complete with private swimming pool, sun deck, kitchen, mini bar, semi open bathroom with shower and bathtub. Kunti Villas consist of 4 One-Bedroom Private Pool Villas and 3 Two-Bedroom Private Pool Villas, suitable for romantic couples, honeymooners, groups of friends and family. Visit website for more info: tjendanavillas.com }}

If you read Wikivoyage:Don't tout, you'll see the following:
  • Avoid assertions of proximity to nearby attractions. The description section of a listing is for describing that listing, not the rest of the town. If it's attached to the convention center or right on the pier then note that using the "directions" attribute of the listing tag, but otherwise save descriptions of the area's attractions for the "See" section. Instead, contribute detailed lat-long coordinates of the property (see Wikivoyage:Geocoding)—it will be much more helpful for a traveler choosing a place to stay.
20 minutes' drive to the airport can't be unusual in Seminyak or a reason to choose one villa instead of another, and a 10-minute walk to the beach seems like a gray area.
As for the address, it is presumed that every listing is in Seminyak, so such information is not given, only the street address.
Finally, you need to simply describe the accommodations and refrain from saying they're suitable for this, that and the other group of people or urging people to visit your website, which you get to list once and not twice.
I hope this helps. I will detout your Seminyak listings. Have a look at what I did.
All the best,

I see now, thank you. I was confused from seeing that other users used the same type of listing and wording when presenting hotel's facilities. Now I I understand, hopefully they will change it too so it will be fair. —The preceding comment was added by BaliTjendanaVillas (talkcontribs)

If you see any other instances of wording that would fall under this site's definition of touting, please edit the touting out if the hotels are not your competitors or post about the listings on the talk pages of the articles in question. We volunteer editors don't catch everything all the time. Also, please sign posts that you make on talk pages by typing 4 tildes (the ~ key) in a row at the end.

Quick question: Dampati Villas is (are?) listed in Sanur, but the address is in Denpasar. Is there a good reason the listing shouldn't be moved to the Denpasar article, with the default address parameters of Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia deleted after the move?
