To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.--ϒpsilon (talk) 12:56, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
Hello, and thanks for adding a lot of helpful information on a wide range of places!
I think your addition of a tiny Caribbean Netherlands article and unilaterally breadcrumbing Saba, Bonaire and so forth to it without discussing your thinking beforehand at Talk:Caribbean is quite problematic, though. Changes to the breadcrumb structure of this site at the regional level and higher normally require consensus, and even more problematic is the fact that your Caribbean Netherlands stub is orphaned: It is breadcrumbed to nothing. I will revert your breadcrumbing changes for these islands but will let the stub you created stand; perhaps it can be treated as an extraregion.
I would strongly encourage you to look carefully at the Caribbean article, noting that everyplace from Cuba to Trinidad to Aruba is part of this large region. If Cuba doesn't have its own separate region, why should much smaller islands? Caribbean is treated on this site as a very large first-order region of North America, in the same way that Central America is, and for the same reason that Belize doesn't get its own dedicated region, neither does Caribbean Netherlands.
All the best,
Docent
[edit]Hi, CheeseCrisps! Are you still available as a docent? I've noticed you haven't been on Wikivoyage since last September, so just need to check whether you want us to retain you as the Benelux docent. Many thanks, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 23:51, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- As you haven't responded, you have been removed as docent. Docents have to be available to answer travellers' questions when needed. Best wishes, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 11:45, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
