Hello, Hanah136! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Please reply to this message as soon as you see it, even if just to say Hello. Otherwise, it's somewhat likely that we may (mis)take you for a longtime vandal who uses similar screen names, and undo your edits.

That said, if you are reading this: Moroni (Comoros) is not the right article in which to make all kinds of general comments that instead belong in Comoros, as I stated here.

Best,

Get around/get in

[edit]

Hey!

Sorry to bother you, I have a question. I see that in the edition the section of how to get to other islands by plane or boat has been moved to get around. I don't get this change since the post is speaking just about Moroni, and that section speaks about how to get out of Moroni, shouldn't it be in Get in/out rather that get around? I was planning to write in get around information about places around Moroni within its island (Grande Comore).

I am sorry to disturb you, but I don't wanna understand better the section contents!

Thanks a lot! You do a wonderful job!

That sounds like an error. Best to post about this to Talk:Moroni (Comoros), to bring it to the attention of more people. I happened to see this post, but I didn't make that edit. I'll have a look, though. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:23, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, all the stuff that's in "Get around" belongs in "Get in", and I would support moving it (back) there. But then that leaves the question: How do you get around Moroni? That should go in "Get around". Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:26, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Questions

[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikivoyage, and thank you for your wonderful additions to Moroni (Comoros)!

I just have a couple of questions regarding your edits. You wrote about the Medina that "you can also find the vestiges of the old bangwe." From the perspective of someone who's never been to the Comoros, the meaning of that word is not at all clear. I googled it, and the only thing I could find was that it was a city in Malawi, which I'm not sure is relevant. Could you offer a definition or explanation for bangwe in the article? That would really help readers, whom we must assume are as ignorant as me of such things.

Another thing, would you mind using the correct templates when adding listings for attractions, nightclubs, restaurants etc? It's not as easy when editing from mobile, but perhaps you could copy and paste this template?

* {{see | name= | alt= | url= | email= | address= | lat= | long= | directions= | phone= | tollfree= | hours= | price= | wikipedia= | wikidata= | lastedit=2018-11-06 | content= }}

(Just copy from * to }}, ignore the 'nowiki' stuff)

What you see above you is a template for a 'See' listing, for an attraction or landmark. We use the exact same template for other listings, except the word 'see' has to be replaced with the correct word, i.e. 'do', 'buy', 'eat', 'drink', 'sleep' et cetera, depending on the type of listing. Then, you can put each bit of information in the right place, so you get something which looks like this listing from Antananarivo:

  • 1 Prime Minister's Palace (Andafiavaratra Palace) (Near the Rova). Sa-Th 10:00-17:00. The palace of the prime minister during the reigns of the last queens is now a museum with an exhibition of precious items saved from the fire of the Rova in 1995, such as the red jacket of Radama I, the royal coral jewels, various royal portraits and the diadem of the last queen. 3,000 Ar. Andafiavaratra Palace (Q181663) on Wikidata Andafiavaratra Palace on Wikipedia

I hope you understand all this; please let me know if not, as I am happy to explain further - en français si vous en avez besoin, but your English is very good :-)

Best wishes, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:59, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Great! I got how to use it. It is a lot of new information, I hope I get to control it fast! Thanks a lot!!! Hanah136 (talk) 19:04, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! Sorry, I thought I was editing myself that by mistake I had written it in understanding. Sorry! Still a lot to learn here! Hanah136 (talk) 19:04, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

No problems, correcting things is quick and easy for us "older" editors. And thanks a lot for your contributions to different Comoros travel articles. ϒψιλον (talk) 19:07, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
