Thank you for your contributions to this article. To make it easier for readers to find information in articles, Wikivoyage uses standard formatting in its articles. Some new editors have been using a variety of different styles, which makes Wikivoyage harder to read, and look like a random mess of information, instead of a travel guide.
- Times in Nigeria articles must be in this format: 9AM-noon, 2-6PM, 9PM-midnight.
- Days of the week are abbreviation like this: M Tu W Th F Sa Su.
- If a business is open every day, write "daily", instead of "M-Su".
- Phone numbers must be in this format: +234 700 5454 3663.
- In the Enugu article, we don't add "Enugu" in addresses -- that is obvious. And we don't include the post code, either.
- And don't type ALL IN CAPITAL CAPITAL LETTERS.
Please correct the formatting of the new information that you have added. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 12:09, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. Thank you for the clarification. I’d make necessary corrections. King ChristLike (talk) 16:18, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. Also, please have a look at Wikivoyage:Don't tout for some important style considerations, make sure you're not quoting promotional language, and also keep in mind that this is a guide for individual travelers and we don't list online delivery services, distribution centres or wholesalers. - I’ve noted these. Thank you Ikan. King ChristLike (talk) 06:58, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sure thing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:59, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Heya, thanks for all your contributions so far! One thing, though: do you mind using more informative edit summaries than "added contribution"? Typically, such edit summaries (including "added content") tend to be used by vandals and since you're obviously here in good-faith, it'd be better to completely avoid using those edit summaries. In some instances, it's fine to not use an edit summary. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 09:31, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- So you say it’s best to not use an edit summary right? Alright, Thanks. King ChristLike (talk) 11:59, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- No, what I'm saying is do use them, but no edit summary is preferable to "added contribution". Still try to explain what you're doing but more specifically (such as fixed typo, added price and the like). --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 12:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. I’m clear on that now. King ChristLike (talk) 13:09, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Descriptions of restaurants
[edit]Hi again. Please do not add listings for restaurants or anything else without a description. Also, descriptions like "Dine in. Takeaway." are not very useful, as they say nothing about what the restaurant serves. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:30, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, it will be updated shortly. King ChristLike (talk) 20:32, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:18, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Can you also please avoid copying and pasting promotional descriptions like "Zevtagon Foods is a food service outlet located in a serene part of the teaching hospital with the primary objective of providing mouthwatering dishes within and outside the hospital."? Leave the name of the place out of the description and describe what they cook, what their specialities are, and if notable or relevant, what the atmosphere is like. You can look at some of the articles in the "Star articles" category for some inspiration, though even they can have problematic phrasings in listings. I found some in the Ann Arbor article and corrected them, though others doubtless remain, but still, have a look, as many of the "Eat" listings are good examples of how to describe a restaurant without touting it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:37, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- This is another example of touting: "Chinyere Restaurant is a redefined professionally managed restaurant affiliated to Kingben reputable for delivering mouth watering delicious, healthy meals at affordable rates." If you keep adding these kinds of descriptions, we're going to have to revert (delete) your work. So please edit them suitably. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:04, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- I just looked up some of the articles in the Star articles category and I now understand what to do better. Thank you for the corrections so far. King ChristLike (talk) 08:07, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps some of the more recent previous destinations of the month might also come in as handy examples. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 08:11, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for working with us, King ChristLike. Do make sure to review Wikivoyage:Don't tout, in addition to the other links we've given you. Sorry; I know that there's a learning curve for all new users of this site, but avoiding descriptions like the ones I pasted above is important, and merely deleting the restaurant names from them, while helpful, does not eliminate the touting. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:11, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
