Administrator
How would you feel about being an admin here? Judging from User talk:AndreCarrotflower, the rights would be useful, and on top of that, you're obviously a widely trusted contributor within Wikimedia wikis. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 23:47, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
- @SelfieCity: Second line of Wikivoyage:Administrators: "Administrators have shown a good appreciation of the Wikivoyage policies and guidelines and made significant contributions on Wikivoyage articles." - Praxidicae's help cleaning up vandalism here and elsewhere is invaluable, but she doesn't need to be a local administrator in order to do that job. I think she would probably agree with me, but I will let her confirm that.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:20, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Could you explain this edit? --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 14:00, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- It was an edit by an xwiki SEO spammer, getting paid to place links for clients, hence my "spam" edit summary. Praxidicae (talk) 14:01, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- OK. It's just that it actually seems to be a good listing following our formatting guidelines. Is there a way to include the listing (presuming the information is accurate and placed in the correct article) without violating policy on being paid to make edits? --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 15:06, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, SelfieCity: You can take the responsibility for the edit by reinstating the listing. However, if you don't personally know that this is a restaurant of quality, I don't know if that's a great idea under the circumstances, seeing as there's no dearth of restaurant listings in the article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:54, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek: Sure, I understand. I wouldn't know whether it was or not, and as you say, under the circumstances it might not be. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 22:37, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

LTA
Hi Praxidicae. You've stated that this editor is an LTA. Are they known on other wikis? They're not known here.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:26, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- They are, that LTA is a globally locked user (the same one he created the sock page for.) Praxidicae (talk) 20:52, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you very much for helping out here! Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:32, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- No problem, sorry if I stepped on any toes, GRP is a particularly obnoxious LTA who should be dealt with swiftly. Praxidicae (talk) 20:36, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- GRP? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:37, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- GRP AKA Projects. See global ban here. He doxes editors and links to his website where he doxes editors. Praxidicae (talk) 20:39, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- I see what GRP stands for. Several names down in the middle column of "Currently banned by the Wikimedia Foundation". Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:50, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, him. Those edits to Spain and China seemed rather different from what we've seen of that vandal so far. How do you know it's him? (feel free to email if the info is sensitive, and sorry if I'm being a pain, I just can't see the link between the two) --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:52, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- @ThunderingTyphoons!: The same way that I and Antandrus know - it's the same person. Notice the power of global sysops. Leaderboard (talk) 21:12, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Leaderboard: Thanks, but I was asking for a proper explanation, not "we just know". If local and global sysops are going to work together on Wikivoyage, we need to share info where possible. I fully admit that I don't have as much experience of this character as you guys, but the edit pattern of the most recent account was completely different from what we've seen of this person so far (no personal abuse, no talk page nonsense). And if it is the same person, then why hasn't the account been globally locked? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 21:57, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- There are two LTAs we're discussing, the IP being GRP and the account I blocked which is the testicle vandal. Praxidicae (talk) 21:59, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
I'm asking about Special:Contributions/Baterjaownf.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 22:02, 16 May 2021 (UTC)Ah don't worry, I just noticed your reply above regarding the user page. Sorry for the wasted time.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 22:07, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Chrissy/Praxidicae
I have met you before on another wmf-wiki where you called me a troll and refused to engage in conversation with me. However, I now see on your associated user-page that you are a global-sysop on all Wikimedia-projects, which to me signals that you hold more power than wiki-specific sysops. Since all sysops (I think?) are expected to display a certain level of decorum, such as engaging in civil conversation with mere-content-contributors, I hope you will answer my question here, and not simply revert it.
Before I start I would like to explain that I discovered you are active on wiki-voy when I followed someone else to this wiki and when checking the contribution history of the associated page I saw your userid right at the top as a 10 August 2022 revert of someone else.
When I clicked on your user-talk-page link I was shocked by its contents. For example:
- referring to a user GRP, see: comment above (User_talk:Praxidicae#Thanks), which I have had the dubious pleasure of being identified as by a (what I assume to be a Mal-functioning) wiki-filter. I am now wondering if this is the reason you have publicly refused engage in conversation with me?
This is important for me to know because I have suffered this type of unexplained behavior on many wmf-wikis over many years by users I do not even recognize. I suspect that someone has been wiki-spreading-rumors about me. I would appreciate a response from you. Ottawahitech (talk) 17:22, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
