Add topicHello, ZHANG KUN0305! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
I have reverted your edits to Lijiang. You cannot just copy text from Wikipedia without giving attribution to comply with their license; see Wikivoyage:Cooperating_with_Wikipedia#Sharing_content.
Anyway, their section on demographics seems far too detailed for a travel guide. We already have this at the top of the Understand section:
- Lijiang is the main center of the Naxi or Nakhi people, though it is by no means a Naxi-only town: at least half a dozen other ethnic groups are represented. The Naxi number under a million and are perhaps best known for their embroidery; they also have their own language with its own hieroglyphic-style writing system, and their own religion, clothing, art, architecture, music and dance. The Chinese government classifies the Mosuo (found mainly further north around Lugu Lake) as part of the Naxi group, but neither the Naxi nor the Mosuo accept this.
I think that is all that needs to be said. If you disagree, start a discussion at Talk:Lijiang and perhaps it can be improved. Pashley (talk) 17:02, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- I've looked at some of your other contributions. There are a lot & your intentions are obviously good. Thank you!
- However, I suspect the Lijiang stuff was not the only violation of Wikipedia copyright & it looks to me like quite a lot of stuff is of little relevance to travel so does not belong here. One example is Tengzhou#Economy.
- Could you please review your contributions. Pashley (talk) 17:15, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Click on "User contributions" under "Tools" on the menu to the left of the page to get a list. Pashley (talk) 18:08, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
Capitalization
[edit]Hi, ZHANG KUN0305, and thanks very much for adding information!
In this edit, though, nothing except proper names - the names of places like Enshi and Icheon - and capitalized adjectives representing places, such as the word Chinese, should be capitalized:
Enshi native products include Enshi Yulu, Enshi Potatoes, Sand Oil Chestnut, Enshi Sauce Cake, Daegiljin Rice, Enshi Black Pork, Youhyanga, Chinese Tongzi Plum, Enshi Bamboo Tong Liquor , Enshi Pickled Radish , Fernbread , Mungbean Peel , Hefeng Tea , Lai Fengtou Kang and Icheon yam
Ordinary nouns like potatoes, chestnuts, cakes, rice and pork are not capitalized. See Wikivoyage:Capitalization.
Also, if you could please make sure not to put a space before commas, it would be appreciated.
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:47, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

- Now, you have no space after commas in that passage, either. Please make sure there is a space after each comma. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:50, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, I've corrected it. Thank you very much! ZHANG KUN0305 (talk) 06:14, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

?
[edit]From where did you get the text of the Longlin Palace listing you added in this edit? Are you attempting some kind of mechanical translation from a Chinese-language source whose copyright you are violating? In any case, the combination of words seems random and incoherent:
"Located in the western suburbs of Enshi City, 8 kilometers away from the state capital, set out the water cave, maze cave, dry cave as one, divided into two land and water, there are mainly an altar, two houses, Three Gorges, Kowloon, thirteen halls, twenty-eight rare and other more than 200 scenic spots, it is male, strange, God, show and called one of the best cave landscape."
And the next sentence isn't any better, while the sentence after that provides no usable context. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:22, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry that my wrong translation bothered you.In the future, I will pay more attention to the translation and contribute more accurate content.Thank you for pointing out my mistake. ZHANG KUN0305 (talk) 05:59, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- My not being able to understand your text is not the only issue. Where are you getting your content from, and are you violating the Wikivoyage:Copyleft policy and the other site's copyright? Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:42, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- These words were not copied from any website.I went to this place in August.I wrote it based on how I felt about my trip and what the guide introduced at the time.If the description is not appropriate, I will correct it and strictly abide by the copyright policy and will not copy other websites.I'm sorry to bother you. Thank you. ZHANG KUN0305 (talk) 11:58, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- No, no problem. The reason I suspected something is that even if I couldn't parse the sentences, they are very detailed. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:32, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- I strictly abide by the plagiarism policy and never copy other websites. Perhaps because those sentences are Chinese idioms, translating them into English may not be understandable and my translation may not be accurate.Thank you. ZHANG KUN0305 (talk) 04:46, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. Do your best, and others will try to help to the extent they can. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:49, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
