Mentors Feedback[edit]

Hi Rangan, the link that you sent me is not working so I will post my feedback here.

  1. User:DaGizza
  2. I think it was a wonderful initiative and excellent way to introduce Wikivoyage to so many new, prospective editors. For future presentations, the structure and order of the presentation may need to be tweaked to make it more useful for new editors going forward.
  3. I would say that the first half in particular was too technical. My suggestion is to start with what is Wikivoyage, why does it exist and the first type of edits that should be taught is adding basic content. Like a sentence to Understand (and explaining that citations are not used here). Then how to add a listing. And finally more technical things like making maps for regions. Starting off with region maps was a dive into the deep end of the pool.
  4. I haven't implemented anything so far into a regional Wikivoyage but I may soon.
  5. I support having more workshops. The more you have, the more people will feel comfortable editing here.
  6. 4 out of 5

I echo DaGizza's comments. Well done. It seemed that the participants were getting a lot out if it. Starting with basics and working up to more complicated matters might be a good approach if you run another workshop. It looked like you had a good turn-out of interested people, so I think it would be worth repeating. Ground Zero (talk) 01:21, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
