Llanidloes (informally: Lani) is a charming small town in the heart of Wales.

[edit]Llanidloes is a 2 hour drive from Liverpool (LPL IATA), Birmingham (BHX IATA) and Cardiff international airports (CWL IATA). The local airport, for chartered transport is at Welshpool 45 km (28 mi).
By train
[edit]Llanidloes is 11 km from Caersws train station, on the Aberystwyth to Birmingham line, via Shrewsbury.
By car
[edit]Llanidloes sits just off the A470 main road about 40 miles from the English border. From Birmingham and the Midlands, take the M54 through Telford, A458 and A483 through Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown. From the south, the A470 offers a spectacular cross-country route from Cardiff.

- 2 Clywedog Reservoir. dam and scenic mountain road to Machynlleth
- Bryn Tail Lead Mine is just below Clywedog Reservoir. It mined lead from the 17th century, switching to barytes in the 19th. There are several old mine buildings.

[edit]Llanidloes is a thriving town with a number of interesting independent shops, mostly located on Great Oak Street and Long and Short Bridge Streets. The success of the town as a shopping destination is partly down to the presence of Hafren Furnishers, a large independent furniture retailer which draws customers from all over Mid Wales and further afield.
