This page is a soft redirect to the talk page of a New Zealand Vodafone IP that I used for an abnormally long period of edits...
"It's possible for other users to edit, change, delete, move, overwrite, add to, or otherwise mess around with User pages or subpages. It's generally considered bad form to do so, though, unless invited by the user."
Please don't do any of that here to my pages. If you have an argument to make that redirecting my own user talk page to the talk page associated with an IP that only I have ever used to edit WV or WT somehow harms Wikivoyage, please make it at my re-directed talk page, rather than breaching etiquette and my clearly stated wishes. Naturally if any one else ever gets assigned that IP by Vodafone New Zealand that situation may change but, until that occurs, I really do think this is the most transparent solution.
There are specialised user pages available for this user namespace. Please do not edit these or this talk page - instead, start a new thread at User_talk:118.93.67.66. |

Disruptive editing

- Why exactly?
- 61.29.8.41 is an Australian static IP that I've never used.
- I do have a very strong suspicion as to who made those edits, but I will leave that for her to confirm or deny. Sufficient to say that none of those were my edits. If you think that, on balance, my presence here is not improving our guide, just say the word and pzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt, I'm gone. --118.93nzp (talk) 01:11, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
- I think that, on balance, your presence here is not improving our guide. Whatever value comes from your copyediting is far outweighed by the frustration created by your interactions with others - this site is a collaborative effort, not a battleground, yet on a daily basis you choose to insult people who have differing opinions ("not visually challenged like many of our editors"), refuse to let things go (see also Wikivoyage:Keep Wikivoyage fun#Are you being a buzzkill?), denigrate work done by others that you disagree with ("Unless I've misunderstood the original reason for buggering up our table of contents and making life difficult for the typical reader"), etc, etc. -- Ryan • (talk) • 04:52, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
- 118.93nzp, just wondering, with respect to your comments about this matter at Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub#Two email addresses for the same listing?, are you intending to leave, or to stop logging in to the 118.93nzp account but continue to edit as an IP? cheers. Nurg (talk) 11:02, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. --118.93nzp (talk) 12:14, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes to what – that you will continue to edit as an IP? Nurg (talk) 20:26, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes. --118.93nzp (talk) 12:14, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

- Hi User:118.93nzp although no-one actually asked you to leave (and regarding Ryan's comment above, you did dig that particular hole for yourself) it does seem strange that you continue to edit Special:Contributions/210.246.47.112 after giving a clear enough announcement that you were going. User_talk:Ikan_Kekek#Farewell
- These two things taken together will look like disruptive editing.
- Seriously, if you want to keep editing then why not just take a break and then continue editing under User:118.93nzp ? Andrewssi2 (talk) 02:58, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
As was pointed out before please stop changing people's user pages. Unless the template in question is deleted or renamed there should be no cause for changing it on people's pages. -- Ryan • (talk) • 00:51, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Can Tho Changes
[edit]"hr" to "h" and "month-month" to "month thru month" ?? Seligne (talk) 23:57, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think we need to distinguish between prose and listings, Seligne.
- See Wikivoyage_talk:Abbreviations#Minutes_and_hours.3F
- Abbr currently states
- "Editors are encouraged to use commonly known abbreviations in listings. These abbreviations should ideally be uniform and consistent and generally should not include full stops or periods.
- Editors may want to choose the appropriate abbreviation from those below which are both widely understood and unambiguous. However, don't knock yourself out "correcting" Rt to Rte – there is more important work to be done in plunging forward and writing the world's most complete and accurate free travel guide!"
- In my opinion, in most contexts, h, min and s is just as intelligible as hr, min and sec in listings and I see no good reason to use spaces (especially of the plain or non-breaking variety) to separate any amount from its unit.
- PS: I'd like to move any further discussion of this to my usual talk page - if that's OK with you, Seligne? --118.93nzp (talk) 02:07, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Wales Coast Path
[edit]I've come across the exceptional work you've done for Offa's Dyke Path and wonder if you have any advice or time to give for creating something similar with the Wales Coast Path. If we get that done, there'll be a guide to hiking a path around the whole of the country - a world first! Cymrodor (talk) 13:08, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
