Do we need separate articles for Abu Dhabi the city and Abu Dhabi the emirate? (WT-en) Jpatokal 21:58, 21 May 2005 (EDT) Yes, there were lack of real Chinese food in the town, and some Chinese food and even Chinese restaurant claimed were just old style and usually not made by Chinese chef. But today the situation has dramatically changed. several authentic and contemporary Chinese restaurant can be found out in the town and they are run by Chinese and chefs are all from China. But please be noted that Chinese food now has a very large variation.

Hate to tell you this but it is illegal to share a confined space with a woman who is not a blood relative or your wife. The Adamski bit is true - a friend of mine was made to dance on hot coals before the Royal Family whilst this song, a smash hit in the UAE, was played. She was not amused.

New museum?[edit]

Pumps Ran for 6 Years to Build Abu Dhabi's New Island Museum. Sounds good. Does anyone have enough info to add coverage here? Pashley (talk) 18:23, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Splurge restaurants[edit]

In the Eat section are all the Splurge restaurants in the same hotel. All these restaurants link to the same hotel website. Is that fine with the Wikivoyage regulations? Flightnavigator (talk) 20:52, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's exceptional, per Wikivoyage:Don't tout#Identifying touting, but not necessarily wrong. From the first entry in that section:
  • Don't list the same place many times. Yes, a guesthouse may have a restaurant, a bar, an Internet café and a dance show, but you need to pick one of "See", "Eat", "Drink", "Sleep" or "Connect" to slot it under. That said, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if, for example, a hotel has a famous, separately named bar or restaurant that also draws significant numbers of non-resident customers (use the article's talk page to discuss these rare instances).
The rule of thumb I use to judge whether restaurants in listed hotels should be listed separately is: if 50% or more of the customers of the restaurant are not hotel guests or people meeting hotel guests, the restaurants should be listed separately. FoP problem. The entire group of photos nominated for deletion will undoubtedly be deleted, so think fast, but I think File:Qasr Al Watan in March 2022 02.jpg is a better photo than the one we're using now, if we want a photo of the exterior of the palace. There's also File:Qasr Al Watan in March 2022 14.jpg, but I think the palace is too small in the thumbnail to look good enough on the page. If we'd rather show an interior, File:Qasr Al Watan in March 2022 05.jpg is splendid. File:Colors of the Union.jpg is a beautiful view of the gate lit in many colors for National Day and File:Qasr Al Watan in March 2022 12.jpg is interesting if we want to show some of the fountain. My feeling is, either the first photo I linked or the 3rd, with the interior, is the one we should download ASAP and upload locally. I hope someone expresses an opinion about this. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:53, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ikan Kekek, the first one linked is fine to me. I have them all locally saved, so no need to hurry. Just ping me once the community came to a conclusion. --Renek78 (talk) 09:17, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Super! Thank you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:28, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good evening, Renek78. No-one else has expressed an opinion so far. I think we should go with File:Qasr Al Watan in March 2022 02.jpg. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:03, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ikan Kekek, any idea how to proceed in order to get it to Wikivoyage? So far I've only uploaded to Commons. --Renek78 (talk) 22:41, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Follow the prompts at Wikivoyage:Upload file. Click "upload it locally to this wiki" and fill in the information on the following page. You can use the {{Information|description=|source=|date=|author=|permission=}} template to insert analogous information from the relevant Commons file page. 👍 Done. Thanks. --Renek78 (talk) 14:38, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! Thank you. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:21, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing image of an event but not visible on the page, so I guess it doesn't matter for our purposes. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:10, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bad photo, so I don't care. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:28, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abu Dhabi districts[edit]

I think it would be better to split this article into different districts. There is already a separate page for Yas Island. The same could be done for Saadiyat or Reem islands already. Hudayriat and Zayed City will become more developed in the future. Any thoughts? Jordandaly95 (talk) 09:49, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
