Move this coverage elsewhere?[edit]

This is not a city but rather an archeological site. While we do sometimes have articles for isolated archeological sites that are distant from any city, this site could easily be covered as an attraction in an article on Liestel. We just need to create that article and move this info there. Texugo (talk) 11:19, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The more usual spelling is Liestal, and Augusta Raurica lies outside its municipal boundaries although, if I remember correctly, the most convenient A2/A3 highway off ramp is signed "Liestal" on the west bank of the Ergolz. BushelCandle (talk) 18:23, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure. This is rather a stub, there's way more to see in Augusta Raurica than listed currently. It is, as far as I can judge, a way more touristy place than Liestel, and the latter does not even make much sense as the access point for the site; one gets there directly from Basel. German wikivoyage has them separate also. AntonBryl (talk) 19:09, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not to argue the issue either way, but German WV does many things a lot differently than en-WV. Several of de-WV's articles would fly in the face of several long established policies over here. Hobbitschuster (talk) 23:09, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've been to the place and can testify. This is no isolated archaeological site; it's indeed a functional suburb of Basel, with residences, schools, shops, restaurants etc. and goes under the contemporary official name of Augst. There's Kaiseraugst as well, which is closer to the Rhine and has its share of historical attractions. And I must agree, there's way more to see in Augusta Raurica than listed currently. Correct. BushelCandle (talk) 18:33, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
