The photo shown is NOT the Cinque Torre. I have a better photo but I need to work out how to replace it. (WT-en) Ericwoods 06:33, 16 December 2011 (EST)

New pagebanner request[edit]

I think the old banner doesn't look unique enough and too many articles on WikiVoyage related to mountain towns have a picture of... a mountain, just a mountain. Cortina is also a small town underneath Cinque Torri that has a church which resembles the place so the banner should feature the symbol of Cortina with some mountains behind it. Old banner
New banner

I've made the banners bigger and placed them in the centre of the page. The new banner, though more interesting, is quite low resolution, and is darker. I prefer the old one, for now at least.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:03, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, keep the old banner per Thundering. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:08, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've switched the order, as the old banner often comes first, as I remember. (Though that may not be the way I did it myself in the past.) I prefer the old banner per other votes. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 22:00, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2020 New page banner request[edit]

File:Cortina WV Page Banner 1.jpg

I'm making a new page banner request for the same reason as the previous one. Can this banner replace the current one? Jankela121 (talk) 15:24, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would really like to support more than one of your current nominations, but I still prefer the current banner because it's more striking. Banners can be very hard to compose. The new one feels squashed from the top to my eyes. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:17, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the mountains are striking, but I can’t really recognize Cortina on the current banner as someone who’s been there. The mountain shapes look somewhat familiar, but it’s just mountains. It could be mixed up with some other mountains. Maybe I should find something better, but WikiMedia Commons didn’t offer much. Jankela121 (talk) 08:32, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. But why is the proposed new banner now red-linked? Perhaps you could find a freely licensed photo on another site. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:37, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, sorry! I was confused with what copyright symbols needed to be the same. The image was from Flickr. Jankela121 (talk) 07:11, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
