Co-ordinates[edit]

@Favourdare123, Kingaustin07: it's great that you are adding co-ordinates to listings so that we can generate a map. I added a map, but it shows some of the listings in weird places -- take a look. I don't know much about maps, but I understand that we try to get co-ordinates to four decimal places (0.0000). Maybe doing that would fix this problem. GZ, it's definitely the amount of numbers added. If you put simply "81.9" - it really could be anywhere and of course the map's going to go deranged. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 13:57, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's not the number of decimal places. The numbers are just wrong. In "See" River Ogun is an example of a listing with correct co-ordinates because it's connected to the Wikidata item and its Lat/Long is 6.73262/3.26591. That's roughly where Nigeria is. If there is a negative on either number or is very different from 6 and 3, the listing is going to be placed on another continent. Less decimal places will make the placement less accurate but not to the extent it shows here. I don't know where the latitude and longitude numbers are coming from for the listings placed near the North Pole. Gizza (roam) 14:24, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I see from the coordinates at the bottom of the article that the town sits at lat=6.55307, long=3.26968, so Posh Apartments aren't at lat=77.8, long=1.2, and Shoregate Hotel isn't at lat=82, long=-6. Ground Zero (talk) 15:10, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
