Talk:Koh Kong island

This looks to be a privately-owned island. Shall we turn this stub into a redirect, and if so, to what? Incidentally, the first version of this article was verbatim and somewhat touty-looking copypasta from Wikipedia, and you can see what's there now. The article creator is currently adding content, but it's not correctly formatted. That can be fixed, but I suspect the whole purpose of the article is to promote its owner. So what's our next step? Should this article be turned into a redirect? Presumably to Koh Kong? Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:26, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for participating in a discussion. You might want to look at User talk:Dryland94. I've posted a bunch of explanations and explanatory links for you. But the fact is, not every island actually needs its own article. There are several thousand people living on Roosevelt Island in New York City, but it does not have its own article, just a short section in an island about a single neighborhood in Manhattan. Roosevelt Island is certainly different in character from both Manhattan and Queens, but that isn't a sufficient argument for it to need its own article.
All that said, can you make a non-self-interested argument for why Koh Kong Island merits its own article, rather than at most a section in Koh Kong#Sleep? Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:56, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Any objection to turning this into a redirect to Koh Kong? Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:32, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Official section headings

[edit]

If this article is kept (which I doubt), it should conform with the Wikivoyage manual of style. Like section headings like "get in", "get around", "see", "do", "eat", "sleep" etc. Had the author done so, maybe (s)he might have noticed that there is not an awful lot to fill this sections with.
