Scale images[edit]

Nick, how do you scale the images to fit the window width in Main Page New? If you have a moment, please see if you can get the same trick to work on Main Page/Photo credits. I'd love to see that. Thanks! --Rogerhc (talk) 05:06, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tables[edit]

I put the photos in tables because it makes it easy to center the photos while aligning the "captions" to left edge of the photos. That is the only reason. I've avoided "thumb" because I don't want thumb's white border and caption background. --Rogerhc (talk) 05:13, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Filenames for DotM/OtBP/FTT banners[edit]

Swept in from the pub

When uploading banner images for DotM, OtBP or FTT, it's important to make sure that the filename of the locally hosted banner is different than the filename of the source image on Commons. The reason for this is that we're required to link to the source file at Main Page/Photo credits, but when two files have the same name, the MediaWiki software automatically assumes any links refer to the locally hosted one. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 23:38, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Swept in from the pub

Based on the description at Wikivoyage:Destination of the month candidates#Updating we need all main page banner photos to be listed on it to provide attribution. If that is the case why isn't the covid 19 banner listed on the Photo credits page and can I add it? Tai123.123 (talk) 15:54, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be added, and the former banner also. I suppose nobody thought of adding it, as adding to the credits is part of a procedure that did not apply otherwise, and you usually don't need to worry about it as most images link to their file description page. –LPfi (talk) 11:17, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LPfi I added it Tai123.123 (talk) 00:20, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
