Links
[edit]Our current link Kilimanjaro National Park goes to Kilimanjaro page of a government national parks site. That is fine & the link should stay.
However a link to another park site has been inserted @Brycehughes: & reverted @Tui56:. That site looks good to me, but does it fail in terms of our policy to give only primary sources? If not, it should be added, though in Understand not in the lead section. Pashley (talk) 15:28, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- There are so many websites with the same information (Mount Kilimanjaro) I don't think the site is necessary because then more and more people will start using the same method of linking pages to their website because they have seen someone else has done the same and no action was taken. I would say it's against our policies and should not be accepted. Tui56 (talk) 15:53, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I think my revert was more about reverting that stray Wikipedia link Tui56 added. That other park site looks trashy and we should exclude it. The official one is fine, of course. Brycehughes (talk) 04:01, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Understood. I am following up now and the other site which now removed but the url is (https://www.kilimanjaroparktanzania.com/) is spamming allot of Wikipedia pages anding it's links as the Official Kilimanjaro Website. Help try follow it's links and remove them / correct to the right sources. They are misleading.
- Thank you Tui56 (talk) 04:28, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah there's a lot of SEO-promoting links on this website unfortunately. It's a mess. Brycehughes (talk) 04:41, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- I agree, though the problem is not limited to Wikivoyage. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 07:15, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
