The Acre link here goes to a location in Israel. How do we fix this?

Merge Acre (Brazil) and Rondônia
[edit]Both of these region articles have little to no content (which isn't surprising given how difficult it is to access both AC and RO), but would it be feasible to merge the two? The reason why I particularly picked Rondônia was because the main highway to Acre passes through Rondônia (except for what seems to be a 9-kilometer section in Amazonas). The only other road to Amazonas state is Hwy 319 to Boca do Acre, which is not connected to the rest of Acre's road network. @Ibaman: (pinging you since you know this area ∞∞ times better than I do) --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 12:09, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- I thought I already posted a suggestion of a larger merge: of Acre (Brazil), Rondônia and Roraima with Amazonas (Brazil). The Amazonas article has content and the other three articles have almost none. I also propose to merge Tocantins and Amapá with Pará (Brazil) for the same reason. So to summarize: the new subregions of North (Brazil) would be: (1) Acre (Brazil)+ Rondônia+Roraima+Amazonas (Brazil) and (2) Tocantins+Amapá+Pará (Brazil). If we agree on those, we should discuss names for the regions. Northeast and Northwest Brazil? Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:15, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- As a Brazilian federal government worker, it's hard for me to think outside the box of accepted convention, the official regions and states which I see as real nuanced and even stereotypied. For geohistoric and ttcf reasons - it has a lot of attractions of its own and total national road access, which is really unlike the rest of North Region - Tocantins should be apart. I'd say the same about Roraima, which is only acessible by air unless you're in Manaus ready and willing for a looong boat ride. Merging Acre and Rondônia makes real sense from the ttcf viewpoint. The road mentioned goes all the way to the Pacific Ocean. I've seen pics and updates from some motorcyclist friends who went to Antofagasta and the Atacama by this road. - @Ibaman: Maybe it would be better to try to expand these region articles so that there is more information in them. The problem we have with region articles is that often they offer the reader little more than a few links to articles. We can fix that problem by adding information. I will start with Acre. Can you add some information, too? Ground Zero (talk) 11:37, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
