List of "Cities"[edit]

Which of those "Cities" are really worth mentioning (especially concerning the redlinks) and which don't deserve their own article? Hobbitschuster (talk) 14:24, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well this comes down to what is the definition of a city. Most in the list are in USA terms a city, they are independently administrative areas that are called cities. Physically the boundary between theses cities is however very subtle, sometimes it is just a street in a continuous series of blocks. They are however in most cases large population areas or major commercial areas and there are wealth/income gaps between some of them. Auburn Hills and Troy for example contain a number of automotive technology companies so attract a large number of business travellers (you will hear a lot of German and Italian in the local hotels and restaurants). Admittedly some do not have a real center in the European sense of the word (well have not found one with some of them) but others like Royal Oak, Clawson and Birmingham do have a high street with a lively bar and restaurant scenes. Although the list is a little long I see no real issues with this for a bottom level region and really would not want to start breaking down metro Detroit into more sub-regions. --Traveler100 (talk) 15:39, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not arguing for breaking down. I'm arguing for covering some places in combined articles (a la thousand islands) if need be... Hobbitschuster (talk) 15:58, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Consolidate?[edit]

Should the "city" articles be merged here and this be a consolidated article? Hobbitschuster (talk) 20:11, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
