Places to eat:

I am suprised SCAN burger is not mentioned. It is right next to Mcdonalds and is the more popular burger joint than Mcdonalds. When all the pubs and bars are closed at 04:00 the line in SCAN burger out does Mcdonalds. When asking a local they say: 'Only tourists eat that shxt' - And I agree, but this up for arguement. Cheap take away with a different twist than an American food chain. Scan burger is located as far north as Inari - usually connected to petrol stations

I will suggest that under no cirmcumstances get a kebab/doner/durum unless you are in Helsinki The doner meat is usually pre shaven and frozen then reheated in a microwave and then drowned in so much sauce that you have a slime over your hands. I went to 13 different kebab houses (Tampere, Turku, Rovaniemei, Inari, Sodankyla, Oulu, Kupio, Joensuu, Helsinki) to see whether it was just bad take out - to my estonishment it is the Finnish Kebab way. If you are Australian or German you will be very disgusted and most likely sick.

BEWARE!!!

Anybody can edit articles, so feel free to add Scan Burger. Personally I don't eat fast food that often. ϒpsilon (talk) 05:13, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Tour listings with no description

[edit]

If you add a tour listing with no description (unless it has a really obvious name like "Lapland Safaris"), how are we supposed to know whether it fits into the exception rule of Wikivoyage:Tour? Therefore, I have moved the listings in question here. If anyone feels like checking the links to see what kind of value-added tours they offer (under the restrictive definitions of this site's tour policy) and restore the listings with a suitable description, great. I suppose they belong, but not without a description. Incidentally, even with a name like "Lapland Safaris", its listing ought to have an informative description.

Promotion to Guide level?

[edit]

What would this article need to be Guide level? /Yvwv (talk) 21:51, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's nearly there. Only thing that's needed is probably some descriptions in #Eat and that should be it. Upgraded to informative for now. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:05, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
We could aim for DoTM in December 2023. /Yvwv (talk) 10:36, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not used on the page, but I challenged the "no permission since". There seems to be some kind of permission, but not according to Commons' standards. Below the resulting message. –LPfi (talk) 20:03, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Honorary consulates

[edit]

@Xepheid: Wikivoyage:Where you can stick it says:

"do not include honorary consulates, unless the listing defines what services are provided to travellers".

There is a long list of them here, and none includes such information, nor a link for where to check their services. Do they provide any help to ordinary travellers? Some of them? Unless that info is added, the list should probably go. –LPfi (talk) 12:42, 12 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
