Talk:Saint Petersburg (Florida)
Add topicI was directed to this site but I noticed that Amelita's Spanish Cuban Cafe was not mentioned in the great places to eat great Cuban Sandwiches. I grew up in Ybor City back in the 50s & 60s and I have patterned my restaurant after the small Cafes of that era. Nothing fancy, just a large portion of great tasting food, a friendly atmosphere, and moderately priced so as not to kill the working man. During these economic times a wise man looks for the best value for his hard earned dollar. Come and try the best value in St Pete, before everyone else does.
- Wikivoyage is a user-edited travel guide; you can make the change yourself! I've added Amelita's, but we need more information on it (location, phone number, hours, price, email or web site) to make it useful. --(WT-en) Evan 14:34, 22 March 2008 (EDT)
Please do not double list
[edit]I just noticed that there are listings here for hotels, etc. that are located in St. Pete Beach. Please move them to the correct city and do not list a second time where it does not belong. (WT-en) gamweb 20:47, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Should we rename the article?
[edit]While the Russian city is usually spelled out in full, I'm pretty sure the Floridian city usually goes by the abbreviated form of St. Petersburg. Eco84 (talk) 11:19, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- I think we should resurrect this discussion. The city's tourism website, and indeed the Wikipedia article, refer to the city as St. Petersburg instead of Saint Petersburg. JRHorse (talk) 12:26, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- I just checked an obvious analogue, St. Louis. If we can use the abbreviation there, sure, why not in this case? Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:47, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- I'd support this as well, though I think we should add a note at the top of this page, as I'm sure a large proportion of the people looking for the city in Russia will type "St. Petersburg" as the abbreviation. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 17:55, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
- FYI: the Russian city can be spelled St Petersburg, St. Petersburg, or Saint Petersburg; I've seen all three spellings before. No comment about Saint Petersburg, FL, but all I will say is I'm strongly opposed to removing the disambiguator. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 07:10, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
