User talk:2.33.233.119
Hello, and thanks for your edits. I'm not sure why you decided to put up over 20 red links to places named Kingston, though. Unless you plan on writing articles about all of them, I disagree with your approach, and would suggest that disambiguation pages should list only those places that already have articles written about them (or will, really quickly). - Also, if you're reading this page, please have a look at don't tout, welcome, business owners, and what is an article. I'd appreciate it if you'd please reply to this message, so that I know you read it. Thanks a lot.
- All the best,
- I've reverted several of your recent additions as the linked sites all returned errors. As Ikan noted above, please respond on this talk page with a message indicating that you have read these notes as some of your edits have raised concerns, and given you lack of response to talk page messages it may be necessary to revert many of your contributions. -- Ryan • (talk) • 22:16, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
- I've blocked you for ten minutes in an attempt to get your attention. Most of your recent contributions have been removed as you are adding a lot of URLs to sites that return errors and are creating links to pages that may not meet the criteria for an article. Please respond on this talk page with a note explaining what you are trying to do. -- Ryan • (talk) • 23:04, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
- I've blocked you for a day in a further effort to ensure that you have read the messages on this talk page. Please respond on this talk page indicating that you have read and understand the messages left here. -- Ryan • (talk) • 14:45, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
- This user is among the 5 IPs I blocked for 3 days recently (see Wikivoyage:User ban nominations). Is this user guilty of new copyright violation, or are the copyright violations all preexisting ones that weren't caught at first? If they're new copyright violations, this IP and the 4 others should be blocked for a week this time. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:50, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
City coats of arms
[edit]There is no consensus in favor of inserting city coats of arms into articles, so I am deleting all such insertions. Please stop inserting coats of arms into articles unless you achieve a consensus in favor of doing so — which you can attain only by actually engaging in discussion, something you seem somehow opposed to doing. Red links
[edit]Again in the somewhat unlikely event that you are reading this page: There is no point in putting a long list of red-linked places in "Go next" sections, because travellers won't have an easy time finding them. My advice to you at this IP, just as it was at another IP, is to write articles about those places first, then link them. Also, don't insert red links to non-destinations, as defined at What is an article. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:53, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Copyright violation
[edit]This IP has been blocked for 1 day for verbatim copying/pasting from , which has a standard copyright. This is a serious offense, and further violations are likely to lead to all of the IPs you have used being blocked for a week. Stop doing this immediately! Enough is enough
[edit]As you must know by this point, Wikivoyage administrators have been trying to get in touch with you regarding your inappropriate edits. These include but are not limited to: a) unconstructive and irrelevant additions to destination articles, such as section headings with no content and vague, unexplained and completely worthless additions of listings; b) edit warring on Wikivoyage:Mapmaking Expedition; and, which is most offensive to us, c) completely ignoring the messages we've been leaving on the talk pages of your various anonymous IP addresses.
When a message is left on a user's talk page, a large orange banner and the words "You have a new message" appear on the top of the screen after login. We have left countless messages on your talk pages and even blocked you a few times, so we have no choice but to assume at this point that you are ignoring us willfully. Enough is enough. We have had our fill of cleaning up after you, and we are thus compelled to take more drastic measures in dealing with your vandalism.
This message serves as your final warning before things escalate further. The next time any edit is made other than a response to this message that addresses the concerns of our community and explains your behavior from any of the IP addresses you've used thus far (1.120.3.182, 1.120.150.75, 2.33.233.119, 58.164.158.55, 123.211.111.136, 124.177.165.57, 124.186.241.240, and 124.187.103.207), or from any other IP address or account whose editing patterns match yours, we will block all IP addresses and accounts you are known to have used for escalating periods of time.
Let it be perfectly clear to you: WE REGARD YOUR PATTERN OF EDITING, AND YOUR REFUSAL TO RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES LEFT FOR YOU BY OTHER USERS, AS WILLFUL VANDALISM. WIKIVOYAGE DOES NOT TOLERATE VANDALISM. IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE EDITING ON WIKIVOYAGE, *PLEASE* RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES AND CONFORM YOUR EDITS TO OUR POLICY.
Good day.
