It looks like you have yet to get an official welcome, so here it is:

Hello, MacftraxMC! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Warningbox Fukushima

[edit]

Hello MacftraxMC,

Welcome and thanks for contributing!

For the second time I have removed a warning box installed by you in Fukushima / Fukushima (prefecture) articles. I can asure you that traveling to Fukushima prefecture is safe, unless you plan to stay in the restricted area, which generally is a bad idea. I don't know any government (including the government of your country) that would discourage travelers from "going close to the evacuation zone" (what is close?) or "all travel to the area..." (which area do you have in mind?) "...due to NEGATIVE HEALTH EFFECTS INCLUDING DEATH."

Moreover, it is perfectly ok to drive through the zone on a motorway or along the route 6, during which you will receive only a fraction of radiation dose of the transcontinental flight on your way to Japan.

Spreading Fear and Trembling about visiting Fukushima prefecture is neither a great service to the travelers nor to anyone else. If you have any doubts aboout the current formulation of the Cautionbox, let's discuss it at the relevant discussion page. Danapit (talk) 18:06, 8 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Warning boxes

[edit]

First, thank you for editing. However, similar to the comments about Fukushima warnings above, I'm concerned about some of the warning boxes you are adding to Turkey articles - when you write "travel is not recommended at this time", what is your source for that information? Even people in Turkey have no clear picture of what is going on and whether it will be over in a matter of hours or days, so the impact to those visiting Turkey in the coming days and weeks seems unclear at best. Contributing factual information is always appreciated, but in this instance I'm concerned that the warnings being added are premature speculation rather than reflective of the current reality in that country. -- Ryan (talk) 01:13, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ok, maybe the travel is not recommended part wasn't necessary, but I think the rest is ok to put on though. MacftraxMC (talk) 01:23, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
