We believe you are an Australian user who has repeatedly made edits which go against this site's policies. Additionally, you seem to be purposely avoiding our attempts at communication with you. You are currently blocked and all your edits have been removed. To have this block lifted, you must cease editing in a manner which is inconsistent with our policies. These policies can be seen in the welcome message below. We are happy to open a discussion with you and remove this block when you are ready. If you believe you are not this person and have been blocked in error, we apologise. Please make an edit on this page saying so and we will unblock you as soon as we see it.

To help you, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Again, if you are not that user of a thousand and one sockpuppets, just post below, and in that case, I'll be happy to apologize and end the block on your account. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:28, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

What is wrong with my edits? I'm new to the site but from what I can tell they're useful additions.Nathan868 (talk) 19:37, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I also don't know who you think I am, but why do you think I'm a sock puppet?Nathan868 (talk) 19:39, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, Nathan. A bad case of mistaken identity. You've been unblocked, though please don't be surprised if your edits come under further scrutiny as they resemble those of a long-term vandal. Happy editing, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 19:53, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

How exactly do my edits resemble vandalism? Also not sure if you realise but Telstra is the major ISP in Australia. Nathan868 (talk) 19:57, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, we're all too familiar with the ISP, as that's the one the vandal uses. I apologise if you're offended, but the fact is that the vandal tends to edit Australia articles, tends to target smaller articles, and tends to have similar usernames to yours. I'm not going to go into more detail than that, but if you really want to know more, check out WV:Vandalism in progress. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:11, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, too. Keep on editing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:46, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

[unindent]And here's the official "welcome" message:

Edits to Soviet Union

[edit]

Hi. I reverted the edits for now, because I think anything that could be read to smack of going easy on Stalin, et al. is likely to be controversial, so let's have a discussion at Talk:Soviet Union where you can lay out your reasons for the edits, keeping in mind that we don't look for a neutral point of view on Wikivoyage but merely fairness.

All the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:26, 7 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Which part exactly do you think is "going easy on Stalin?" Is there a particular part of my edit that you think would be controversial? I removed a reference to the Holodomor as a "starvation campaign" because that is far from a universally accepted opinion, but other than that my edits don't even refer to Stalin. --Nathan868 (talk) 12:39, 7 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Not that it was or was not a starvation campaign but deleting the mention of it. Anyway, I've posted detailed remarks at Talk:Soviet Union. I think this should be resolvable. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:53, 7 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Undoing edits to Dagestan

[edit]

Hi Nathan, the reason why I reverted edits to Dagestan was because of community consensus at Wikivoyage talk:User ban nominations SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia)

Hi SHB2000, please read above, and please do not revert my edits again without reason

I was talking about ArticCynda, not yours. Also don't mind me reverting Brendo's edits without an edit summary. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 11:38, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Userpage

[edit]

You might want to create a local userpage here. This way, no one will mistaken you for Brendan John Williams (aka Telstra). SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 12:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nobody will, regardless. That was a case of mistaken identity that was resolved quite a while ago. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:46, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think I reverted his edit on Dagestan thinking it was brendo SHB2000 (talk | contribs | en.wikipedia) 21:23, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
