- This seems like a particular type of history, not something you'd see in a travel guide, and are all those stages really applicable? Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:58, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- IMO, this is something you'd try to contact a tourism board for – most of us here don't work professionally in the industry. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 23:36, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Janda Baik was founded in 1930 and I think tourism is a relevantly recent industry in the town, so much of it would have developed in living memory. Janda Baik article was started in 2007, so you may get some history by looking at how the article has changed over the years.
- A full answer probably requires a visit to the area during a quiet time. Then go and speak to the management of hotels, restaurants and other businesses. Visit the library and look at copies of old local newspapers reporting on building etc. The librarian can probably suggest other sources of local information. - The first few stages of the Butler's life cycle model are basically self-explanatory. For examples, at the beginning, only a small number of travellers are attracted by some cultural events, natural landscapes or unique attractions, this is the “exploration” stage. Motivated by the income from the tourist industry, local people start to provide some facilities for tourists, such as accomodation, this is the “involvement” stage. The key is the “stagnation” stage, where the number of tourists are “Tourism Carrying Capacity” of the natural environment. The destruction to the natural environment, deforestation as in the case of Janda Baik, harms the natural environment and reduces the attractiveness of the place. Tourists seek for new destinations and the tourism industry concerned declines. Whether this will be followed by a further decline or a rejuvenation, is highly dependent on the abilities of the government officers. In the case of Janda Baik, if it can attract a large number of investors to set up factories (such as factories for making electronic products), revival will follow, but in the form of a new industry, not tourism. Is it correct that you need to enter Vietnam on the exact date of entry mentioned in the evisa?
In the Entry Requirements section on the Vietnam's Wikivoyage page, the following is mentioned: > However, you must enter on the date and at the place stipulated on the visa; you will be denied entry if you arrive on the wrong date [...]
Does it mean that if the date of entry on the evisa is 4th December and it is valid till the 4th of January, we can enter only on 4th of December? That's how the wording sounds like to me. I couldn't find this specific thing anywhere else on the internet. My understanding is that we can enter on any date in the validity period provided the port remains same. Can I get a permanent residency and eventually citizenship of Rwanda on just a passive income?
If I increase my American SSDI to at least $1,000/month then move to Rwanda, how comfortably can I live in Rwanda with that passive income?
What are the income requirements for incoming immigrants from America to Rwanda? How well does the Rwanda Immigration Ministry treat half-White, half-Korean immigrants? How well would the Rwandan people treat them? How about employers? (I plan to find a job too; I'll attempt to have multiple incomes.)
Also, what is the cost of rent for a Studio or One-Bedroom apartment in a typical Rwandan apartment complex?
Would the Anti-Trump Establishment that I'm a part of feel safe once immigrated there? He may take away my Medicaid but at least the National Rwandan Health Insurance is only $8 a YEAR. He won't also discontinue my SSDI, will he? I can live with getting my Medicaid removed because I can just get local Rwandan health insurance when I move but I can't have my SSDI discontinued at this time until I accumulate enough dividend stocks to have a new passive income to live off of.
As a Dasher (Doordash driver) whose daily earnings goal is $125/day and who often meets and exceeds that goal, what Rwandan jobs would pay $125/day as a way to replace my income from Doordash? What 3rd-party delivery services does Rwanda have, and how well do they normally pay? What is tipping like amongst Rwandan customers? Or would I be better off just settling with the SSDI?
What other tips do you have for would-be American expatriates who are looking to emigrate to Rwanda to escape Trump's hurtful policies? --2600:8803:1D13:7100:9203:84C:6D0F:786D 09:21, 30 November 2024 (UTC) Asked by: 2600:8803:1D13:7100:9203:84C:6D0F:786D 09:21, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
- Have you visited Rwanda for a couple of weeks? Do that first before you begin thinking about moving there.
- The economy is so different from the US that you can't begin to make comparisons - the average wage for a skilled worker is $560 per month. If there is a company like Doordash, you would be lucky to make $10 per day. AlasdairW (talk) 14:22, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
Train trip from Tallinn to Riga
I and my girlfriend are thinking about a train trip from Tallinn to Riga some time in summer 2025 or summer 2026. I understand that there is no direct connection between the cities but we would have to switch trains in Valga. I have some questions.
- How long would the trip take?
- How often do the trains travel?
- The ship Viking XPRS from Helsinki appears to arrive in Tallinn at 13:00 Estonian time. It would take us at least one hour to reach Balti jaam. Is this enough time to catch the train to Valga or do we have to stay overnight in Tallinn?
- How much time do we have to switch trains in Valga? Does the train to Riga depart from the same place as the train from Tallinn arrives to or do we have to walk a long way?
- Where do we buy tickets from? How much do they cost?
- We have experience of Estonian trains from Tallinn to Tartu and found them quite nice, at least the modern orange trains. We haven't travelled on the old Soviet-era trains. Do these modern orange trains also travel to Valga? What are the Latvian trains like compared to these trains?
- I understand some Estonian because of its close resemblance to my native Finnish. However I understand exactly zero Latvian. Can we manage with speaking English on the whole trip?

- Hi
- I haven't visited the Baltics by public transit, just Tallinn on foot and the rest by car, but have googled up some information just in case.
- Firstly, as you may know, rail travel in the Baltic states isn't as efficient as in Central Europe, and in many cases intercity public transport means travel by bus. The Rail Baltica project is going to alleviate this, though. It's still possible to travel by rail, though, but one should think of it as a kind of rail adventure rather than the fastest way of getting from A to B.
- Check Estonia#By_train_2 and Latvia#By_train_2 for basic information, as well as the websites of the Estonian and Latvian railways. You may need to take one train to Tartu, a second to Valga, and a third to Riga (from the same station in Valga) and may have to stay overnight on the way.
- Having checked the schedules by the Latvian railways, there are just two departures from Valga, 5:12-7:47 and 14:52-17:47. With the XPRS arriving in Tallinn you could take the 15:22-17:51 to Tartu, apparently continuing 17:54-19:11 to Valga and stay overnight there. Nevertheless this would mean a really early wake up on the next day to catch the first train or spending much of the day exploring Valga to get on the afternoon departure.
- It would be more efficient to take one of the overnight ferry trips that gets you to Tallinn at 23:30 but lets you sleep the night onboard until 6:00 or thereabouts (https://www.vikingline.fi/valitse-matka/risteilyt/helsinki-tallinna/paiva-tallinnassa-matkat/paiva-tallinnassa-matka/ has it for cruise passengers but should be possible for one way trips as well), then the 7:08-11:01 to Valga, with a couple of hours to spend there, and then the afternoon service to Riga. Again, the schedules could have changed by the time you will travel.
- Tickets can apparently be bought online, or at ticket machines at stations (at least for the Estonian part).
- You will get by in the Baltic states with English nowadays - not everyone will speak it but there is very likely someone around who does, and information boards and the like will likely be in English also. --Ypsilon (talk) 21:57, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
